I think that's good news.
I would like him to be given a loan next season where he can play 30 plus games - assuming that we are going to have enough fit strikers in the building.

Nice! Bright future for Kanu ahead if he continues to work at it.

Loan him to a League 1 club next season, then when we get promoted from League 2 we'll have a striker with League 1 experience

Agreed that this is good news. Not sure which of the fans are able to accurately judge how far our Academy players might kick on. But some should feature in the squad next season. I believe Ness and Campbell also have contacts running down. Whilst Elerewe has left the club.

I believe Ness and Campbell also have contacts running down. Whilst Elerewe has left the club. Both Ness and Campbell looked better last season. Campbell, in particular, looks like he might not make it, in my opinion. It is a lot easier to come into a side that has very little to play for and not much pressure on it. Both of these players had that in the second half of last season. That said I completely wrote of Karlan Grant before he went out on loan to Crawley so my judgement shouldn't be a key factor in any decisions that the club make.

Great news about Kanu. Patrick Casey for the under 18s, don't know a lot about him, but he seem to get his fair share of the goals and features well in the match reports. I believe he's been on the 1st team bench a couple of times.

Pleased to see this. I’ve been impressed by the commitment in his recent appearances. He seems to have a great attitude and has his feet on the ground.
Let’s hope he succeeds. He doesn’t have the very obvious technical quality of an Ademola Lookman but he may have better physical attributes. With good coaching perhaps he can develop into a very effective player. Andy Scott’s comment was interesting in this respect.

It will be interesting to see over the next few weeks if a change in management if we see any improvement in our players especially the younger members of the squad. I have always felt that for young players that come into the team it’s always harder when a team are struggling it’s not always easy , that’s as long as we start winning again.

He’s often made a big difference when he’s come on as a sub this season. Goals & assists.
I’ve seen us write off Pigott & KAG in recent years only for them to later show their worth. Kanu is nowhere near the finished article but his potential is worth investing in.

I might be in the minority here but personally I don't rate him. I see where you are coming from but in his defence he isn't ready to toe the line in a relegation battle and shouldn't be put in that position. He needs to go out on loan next season (unless we go down) to gain experience and I will judge him when he comes back.

Think people need to consider him as potential rather than boiler wrapped ready made striker.
I’m glad he’s here for a longer term - contract well deserved

Has to be a nailed on starter Tuesday, so disappointed with Ladapo.
I have a feeling he will bang one in too.

Damn sight better than Ladapo With respect that’s not difficult … all you’ve got to do is to move then trap a ball and then pass to a team mate or shoot on goal. Poor Freddie is still on tie up boot laces on the A to Z of being a striker 😳 Ps stop press … he’s had to go back a step and ‘put on boots and secure with velcro.

100% proving me wrong. Still think he needs a running coach or something. He doesn’t seem to move like an athlete. If he was taught to run properly I think he’d be rapid.

Kanu & Leaburn in the same team next season would be great but can’t see that happening at least one of them will be sold.

Can that be a change in physique?.. A couple of seasons back, he was tiny and had little spindly legs.. Anyway most importantly he knows where the goal is and always gives 💯... Love him...
