We should be looking at the teams above us and aiming to catch up and overtake them.
It's no good looking over our shoulders, we have to look up!

10 games to go with 30 points to play for 16 games isn't it? 52-54 points tends to be the benchmark to keep teams up in L1, so we need 6-7 wins from our remaining 16 games. Reading are a better team than us without the * , so we could be looking at titans like Port Vale (2 games in hand) & Burton Albion to implode. Standards at the club, and the demands both on & off the pitch, have been far too low. That needs to change starting at Reading on Saturday. If these players can’t lift a leg when backed by 3,000 away fans, they shouldn’t be here. That’s not scapegoating, it’s about basic standards of ambition.

The average over the last twenty years has been just under 48 points for saftey but this year I think you're right around the 50+ given how every team nearly except for Carlisle and Cheltenham seem to be picking up wins. If we can get 4 points in Feb (big ask) then I think we will be fine purely because we're playing all of the bottom three in March.
If we don't get that first win during February then I don't even want to look at the table come March and what those games require from us.

Always worth bearing in mind that the players are monitored both in matches and in training. Nathan Jones should already be fully aware of each player’s “Load” or physical output during games and day in day out at Sparrows Lane. The number of high intensity sprints and distance covered during matches is available for each player who will be being monitored versus expectations, other players and their own history. When the physical output of any player dips, the Director of Performance should be able to advise whether that player has played too many minutes or is shirking.
Nathan Jones will already know who’s been “lifting a leg”. It’s a shame we can’t see that data too. If we could I suspect there may be some surprises.

Unless you don’t have adequate replacements for the lazy ones, in which case the data doesn’t count for much. I’d love to know Edun and Tennai’s stats this season. Not just a pair of poor footballers, but not the most hard working either, particularly in a wing back role. Ladapo and Fiorini haven’t impressed with their work rate either.

In this league, it's truly astonishing where we find ourselves, and Appleton's managerial performance was incredibly poor. While players share responsibility, going winless in 12 matches in League 1 is quite a feat. I hope Jones can secure enough points to keep us up, envisioning a potential improvement next season if we maintain our League 1 status and he brings in players who align with his philosophy. I will be monitoring the players closely for 100 percent commitment and effort until the season's end, that with some proper organisation will hopefully see us safe. Although I am not totally confident we can do it with this assembled group.

Fiorini's fitness aside, one would anticipate a touch of class in his brief appearances, especially as a City player. Whether through a skillful pass or a dribble, so far, his performance appears lackluster and falls short of expectations. It's disappointing, and his current form suggests challenges even in making it into a Sunday 11 at the Dog and Duck.

16 games remaining so win 6 draw 4 lose 6 would take us to 53.

16 games remaining so win 6 draw 4 lose 6 would take us to 53. 13 games left with us on exactly a point per game. Port Vale, Reading, Shrewsbury and Reading are all one or two points above a point per game. Perhaps five wins and 50/51 points enough to finish third in this group of five? We'll know more after every round of fixtures.

We are currently in the bottom 4.
It’s a sad state of affairs seeing us in the drop zone with minnows like Port Vale, Fleetwood & Carlisle. Anyone who thinks otherwise really should find another hobby.
📉 Methven & Scott Out 📉📉📉📉📉

There's a good chance that we will be in the bottom four by Tuesday night given that we are playing two top sides. However, what determines our season is what comes next in March. Away games vs Northampton and our relegation rivals Cheltenham must yield a win else the pressure keeps building.
Until we watch the games it's hard to tell whether Jones and the players will have done enough to secure that first win.
It's understandable that some will compare our budget to the rest of the bottom six but today that's irrelevant. All we can do right now is back the lads and see where this journey takes us. Ideally the wins will arrive soon enough and we can all breathe a sigh of relief as well as anticipating which players will leave in May together with how the CAFC approach might change over the summer.

Anyone who thinks otherwise really should find another hobby. 📉 Methven & Scott Out 📉📉📉📉📉 Lost ground today and we will not move on while Methven, who has pulled together this complete and utter shambles together, stays in place. I will admit I have never spoken to the bloke but I know those who have and he has played the whole lot of them. Get him out now and save our club.
