I mentioned him in another thread but decided to create one just for him because he's worth it.
This was 2021, he said maybe one day, so why not now?
Doing a cracking job in Portugal with 2nd tier club AVS, who are second in the table just two points behind leaders Santa Clara. The club was only founded in May 2023 after UD Vilafranquense's SAD relocated from Vila Franca de Xira to Vila das Aves due to poor stadium conditions.

He was someone that I thought about as a possibility after Holden left, however I was a bit concerned that he is onto his 18th managerial appointment in as many years.
Can't say I have followed his career so no idea why he has managed so many clubs, but if he has what we are looking for, in terms of a quality manager,you would of thought at least one of the 18 clubs would of kept him on for a significant period of time.

Not sure if anyone is aware but but Jorge is the manager of Portuguese 2nd division side AVS Futebol SAD, who this season just missed out on promotion to the top tier. They finsished in 3rd place and have tonight gone to the Algare and beaten Portimonense in the first leg of the relegation/promotion play off 2-1.
The return leg is in a week's time in Vila das Aves. It's in my diary as I would to see Jorge back in the big time. If they do make it, it will be down to their 40 year-old striker Nene, who has netted 23 times this season and is the division's top scorer!!

Congratulations to Jorge and AVS.
They have just beaten Portimonense in the play-offs 2-1 (4-2 agg) and been promoted to the top tier of Portuguese football.
I watched the game and Jorge was very emotional at the final whistle.
I do hope that their fans can urge themselves to be a little more exciteable by the start of next season though. No jumping up and down going bonkers, just standing there clapping like they just won a game instead of promotion!
