Charlton Athletic can confirm that Curtis Fleming will take interim charge of the men’s first-team following the departure of Michael Appleton.
Fleming will be assisted by former club captain and current Senior Professional Development Phase Lead Coach Jason Pearce.
Fleming, Pearce and goalkeeping coach Stephen Henderson will take training at Sparrows Lane on Thursday ahead of Saturday’s fixture against Blackpool.
Richard O’Donnell has been relieved of his role as Men's First-Team Coach. The club would like to thank Richard for his efforts during his time at Charlton

Nice interview. I like his comments around being a good coach and a good man manager. Was that a dig at Appleton lol?

Agreed came across well, he came over to me and my son on Saturday at Burton and had a quick chat about the pitch and how well it had stood up against the cold while also mentioning that his bald head wasn't. Hope he gets a result for us against Blackpool.

Very impressed with that interview. Fleming comes across as being straightforward and down to earth. I would imagine players would want to be in his team and might actually enjoy playing in it. As he says about Bryan Robson, if he left you out you would take it on the chin. I hope him and Jason get a few games to show us how they can pick a team and manage it through the 90 minutes. We might be pleasantly surprised. If Scott's not going anywhere do we need someone in between if they can cut the mustard?

A mate of mine was a phisyo at the scum (Palace) and he said to me he will be loved by the players and is a good assistant. Not sure he’s ready to be the manager yet.
