Does anyone know if the club has managed to reach a compromise with the left wing money grabbers at Greenwich Council over the new extended parking restrictions?
A Charlton fan has helpfully reminded us on Twitter this morning that the new restrictions WON’T apply for our evening game v Northampton on Tuesday 23rd Jan, but will kick in big time when we host Derby County on Saturday 3rd Feb.
Mr Hi Viz Jobsworth from Greenwich Council expects to be very busy that afternoon, dishing out £80 tickets to unsuspecting Charlton fans.
My understanding is that the “Permit Holders / 2 hours maximum” zone has been widely extended, with one wag predicting brisk walks from Eltham and beyond for many supporters driving in.
Even if the club can’t reach a sensible compromise with a Council hell bent on screwing the motorist, a map of where we can and cannot park around the Valley would be really helpful IMO. It was common knowledge that one superstore car park on the other side of the Lower Road was a good free spot on a Saturday if you got there early enough.

Rodwell said in the YouTube meeting the other day said that the council is not budging on this and it’s tough.
Though He also went onto say that club is looking at the changing the use of the stadium car park 🤷♂️

Though He also went onto say that club is looking at the changing the use of the stadium car park 🤷♂️ Thanks for the update. I can’t see them using the club car park. Surely they make money from it on match days. These ridiculous parking changes are bound to deter fans from bothering.
