Running him out of town was arguably a huge mistake (weâll never really know)âŚhe wasnât a âfootball manâ but his networking idea wasnât the worst thing in the world..

Running him out of town was arguably a huge mistake (weâll never really know)âŚhe wasnât a âfootball manâ but his networking idea wasnât the worst thing in the world.. Ironically, the way the new SCMP rules are going to be enforced his financial approach would have been more successful. It was suggested, at the time, that had the 'arms race' been controlled with the initial FFP rules he would have funded a team/squad that would have been able to compete in the Championship. What stopped that was that, as the rules were 'relaxed', it became dangerously expensive to try to compete. Despite the poor execution (something that Sandgaard was worse at and SE7, currently, look worse at) Duchâtelet 'invested' (loaned) the club over ÂŁ50m during the time he was in charge. Just imagine what our squad would look like, now, if someone 'invested' half of that this month!

Duchatelet and family got a lot of stick they didnât deserve. He could have made one or two or three better appointments but things certainly went downhill fast after he sold up.

Sandgaard was the better guitar player of the two.

The Duch was our most successful owner since Slater and Jiminez and Richard Murray before that.
Don't get me started on the wankers we have had since. More cowboys than Texas.
