......that he has in part put together?
We have seen the level and lack of quality of the players he has brought to the club yet worryingly it's the same man that we are looking to to turn it around!
Forgive me for not wanting to be optimistic!

Forgive me for not wanting to be optimistic! You know more than us what players Andy Scott and that are looking to bring in. After what you’re hearing are you finding it hard to be optimistic?

I have never known a Charlton side that is so lacking in technical ability. I mean that individually and collectively.

I have never known a Charlton side that is so lacking in technical ability. I mean that individually and collectively. To be fair we've all seen these individual players do better earlier in the season. These last few weeks have been horrendous and six games without a win has taken its toll. L. Watson and T. Campbell haven't become bad players overnight but both are out of favour with Appleton. My gut feeling is that Scott and Appleton aren't singing from the same hymnsheet... and that needs resolving. Bringing in four decent players as many agreed at the beginning of December, isn’t a big ask. But today the wheels fell off. Appleton has been totally exposed, whereas Scott has a definite role to play. Just my take obviously.

What worries me is that Scott and Holden weren’t singing from the same song sheet either and Scott appointed him, too. I could forgive one bad managerial appointment but two, in nine months, suggests that the managers are, maybe, not the problem. Andy Scott now finds himself having to prove, not only that he can do the job, but that his two managerial, and two transfer window, failures are not an indication of his talent. Anything less than three players that can transform this side has to suggest that Mr Scott is 0/5. He is currently 0/4. My answer to the thread question is that we cannot trust Andy Scott to overhaul the squad. Sadly we have no choice.

In the realm of being a Charlton supporter, grim times persist due to a lack of proper investment in the playing squad or the appointment of a savvy manager capable of assembling a team using the loan system and free transfers. The blame for this predicament rests not only on Appleton's limitations but also at Scott's feet and the so-called lenders. Until meaningful changes occur, promotion from this league remains elusive, trapping the club in a cycle of yes men like Appleton. Would I trust Scott to overall the squad? Would I fuck.

Scott’s reputation will really be tested in this next window…..very interesting time ahead for the club which will go one of two ways We need 5 quality players to go straight in the team to improve it….. will we get this though is anyone’s guess?

You also need a recruitment strategy that aligns with the manager & SMT’s plans . We clearly don’t have that at the moment. Within the space of a week, Scott reiterated that SE7 Partners prefer to work with a younger squad of players, and Appleton went public after the Cambridge game berating the lack of experience. I’d be interested to hear what the likes of Mundell and seriouslyred think is the club’s DNA / playing style under this scurvy crew. I quote Nathan Jones again . “My teams are aggressive. They hunt for the ball in packs. Lots of tackles, lots of crosses, lots of shots”. I contrast that to us at Brisbane Road yesterday. Big gaps between the back 4 and the midfield. Pressing - if you can call it that - half heartedly carried out by single individual players, normally Alfie May. Aimless sideways passing across the back 4 to massage our possession stats, followed by AMB lumping it 60 yards to May, who loses the aerial challenge. Where is the identity in our team - would anyone who supports what SE7 Partners are trying & failing to do please explain ?

Why don’t Scott become the manager not head coach then.
There is always going to be conflicts of interest with these arrangements. There should be one person making in the field decisions.

Would imagine though the relationship and working in tandem works perfectly well at places like Posh, Bolton, Ipswich, Plymouth etc….maybe we need to look at our head of recruitment before we keep chopping and changing head coaches🤔🤔🤔
