Steve Brown has hit many nails on the head there. In an ideal world, his interview would be played back to Appleton and the players as part of the debrief tomorrow morning.
There are numerous examples on Twitter this season of individual Charlton players downing tools and not doing the basics, including incidentally the over rated CBT, who is not fit to lace John Robinson’s football boots. Other examples include basics like not picking up your man at a corner, and not bothering to track back, or just jogging back for the cameras.
If and when Appleton is sent down the road, and it’s got to be a question of when and not if now, SE7 Partners could do worse than get Brown and Curbs out of the Charlton TV studios, and give them the gig until the end of this season, after which we go back to the drawing board yet again.
At least Steve Brown has a genuine passion for the club.
Listening to Appleton droning on like Voldemort after each defeat is even more soul destroying than the performances themselves.

He should be involved in some capacity, his attitude and no nonsense approach is what is sadly lacking from most of our squad.
Let Brownie take training or do the pre match team talk.
We have a team of lazy bastards who need a lesson, no they need a kick up the arse!

The lot we have at the moment unfortunately do not appreciate the privilege of playing for this club. The criteria for any new players coming in is a backbone and a pair of balls!!!!.. |

Not just this club, any club expects those things from professional footballers. And if a player doesn't show that, nobody will want to sign them.
I thought maybe a lot of that was the philosophy of Lee Bowyer, but we conceded a lot of late goals in the 2019-20 season which ultimately cost us, and we seemed to lose it in the middle of the 2020-21 season which clearly cost us a place in the play-offs.
