Not looking good for Reading now .. they were hoping to be able to pay the staff who have not been paid for couple of months ( they paid the players to stop another points deduction ) … but this news I could be the end ? or certain relegation .
Might get some bargains of them in Jan they had a couple of decent players the centre back was pretty good and of course Smith up front who now back fully fit ?

Bit harsh on Reading wanting to strip them of their players for peanuts!
Having said that though, might be worth a cheeky bid for Nelson Abbey!

Agree business is business, but it would leave a nasty taste in the mouth. All fans love their clubs and I feel for Readings.

We like Abbey and I have been that we are considering a bid for him in the region of 500k.
Problem is, his agent is Kia Joorabchian, a total wrongen and greedy fecker. H sent his best racehorse, Persian Force to stud having just turned 3-years of age. He had a bright furure on the track but chased the stud fees instead.
Think we should try a second attempt of signing Sam Smith too.

Would be fantastic to get Abbey in Reams as he is quality but I would imagine there are plenty of other clubs hovering around waiting to pounce when the time is right

They will beat us next week no doubt about it. We can't score and they have better attacking players. No presence up front.

Better form then us now next Saturday. They have managed to keep hold of some decent players like Knibbs and Smith and are in good form . We look shot to be honest and just can’t see us beating anyone at the moment . Jones has got a massive job on his hands to keep us up .

They will beat us next week no doubt about it. We can't score and they have better attacking players. No presence up front. As mentioned on other threads, the Reading game is massive now. We have already sold nearly 2,000, and I’d expect our away end to be full next Saturday (2,300 ?). I’m looking forward to it. The players will hopefully have had a full week of Nathan Jones’ training, and we will see a few changes to our starting 11. The Masked Crusader in goal needs replacing, and let’s go to a flat back 4 , playing to the strengths of our new full backs, and omitting the totally out of form Jones, and the useless Tennai and Edun. Unfortunately we now have no pace or width in the side, so accommodating our 11 midfielders into a starting X1 capable of scoring a goal will be a challenge for Nathan.

In a weird way this Reading game is as big as it gets and I can’t wait! No width and no creativity and yet I’m more optimistic than I’ve been in years. It’s going to be a messy end to the season but ultimately, with the fans back on side we’ll have enough.

I wonder if NJ will adopt the Lee Bowyer diamond? No wingers so seems like the best formation for what we have

Love it Tom! Can I have some of what you’re smoking please? 😉 Hahaha wishful thinking maybe but I don’t think the players we’ve got are as bad as they’ve been. A well respected coach in Jones will galvanise this mob into a mid table finish. I would have to admit it’s getting proper dicey now though! Hopefully a few decent cameos from Aneke, Taylor and Camera added to our current lot will do the business.

Latest tweet from Cawley suggesting Jones signs up today. Will be fascinating to see what side, tactics and subs he employs. A win for us changes everything... agreed?!

More shots on goal would be an improvement. Just one in fact would be an improvement.

We can imagine that the Reading owner will do what it takes not to incur more points deductions and risk relegation. The irony is that CAFC is already a tenant of The Valley and Sparrows Lane, but that hasn't stopped two takeovers. Nor aspirations of returning to the Championship.

I understood that article to suggest that Wycombe were going to buy the training ground and use it, rather than lease/rent it back to Reading. I do feel a little sorry for the owner, to be honest. He has pumped in c. £200m and, despite wasting it, I'm sure he had good intentions and now the EFL are fining him for not having the money to pay the bills even though the points deductions have causes a relegation and would have made it harder to sign players for this season - they could still go down, even if they don't get another points deduction.

I see at the moment it's been halted as planning limitations only allow Reading to use it.
