Doesn’t look good for me and my family to park on match days thanks to Greenwich Council proposals.
Going by train from Essex is going to cost me a fortune.
Haven’t heard much resistance from the club. I know Charlie boy reads this site surely he can fight this with his American friends lawyers.

As someone who lives in a controlled parking zone in Charlton I don’t support the proposed changes, that include extending the permit aread and extending evening restrictions on match days. Sure for us residents it currently may mean the odd day you can’t park outside your house for a few hours but the visiting fans contribute to local businesses and the local football club, which was here long before most of the residents. It’s like the people that buy a house next to a church and complain about the bells on a Sunday. Greenwich council are clueless when it comes to roads generally and this is just another example of bad decision making.

I don’t like it but, let’s be honest, we would all be pissed off if we sent out for the morning then came home and had to park three streets away.

I don’t like it but, let’s be honest, we would all be pissed off if we sent out for the morning then came home and had to park three streets away. I live around the corner from a bus depot workers park outside my house every day I don’t complain. If everyone took the same attitude as the Charlton residents then no one would be able to go and park anywhere including them. Will the club make a stink about this I doubt it and more fool them if they don’t. Also that stupid cycle lane down Woolwich road the ones that’s the width of one truck and a half. You know the one that emergency services especially ambulances cannot go down and have to sit in single lane grid lock. The people namely consultants and politicians who think of these schemes get well paid for such nonsense. Jesus I’m siting West Ham (sic) once again you can park in the shopping centre and the local near by multi storey car parks 10 minute walk away. No problem have to wait pay. Seems to be Newham Council loves West Ham and their fans and rightly so compared to the facists at Greenwich Council who are making Charlton fans life difficult again. So do something Charlie boy like Brady would.

I've been using JustPark this season since the car park I was using closed.. they have the Charlton Asda pre-bookable for as long as you need and a few other spaces available to book in the area. Might be worth a look petetongthereturn

I used to go to the Valley frequently by motorcycle until it got stolen in Gallon Close on a night we played Accrington Stanley in October 2021 (Nigel Adkins' last game in charge). I'm not sure if the policy will apply to motorcycles, I guess it will be like any other resident parking bay in the borough of Greenwich.
In any case I'm unlikely to use that form of transport again unless there's a better place to park it.
