I know not any relevance to us, but I see their fans claiming a lack of goals. Now who would have thought it 🤣🤣.

Their last 2 games were 1 draw and 2 defeats to drop out of the top 7 but they are just one point off 2nd so a bit premature unless they really know what they are doing, e.g. maybe the xG shows they are performing worse than expected.
I note Mark Hughes also sacked at Bradford City. Now they come across as a very badly run club to me, have been since they missed out on promotion in 2017. They're currently 18th in the table, so a lot worse than Gillingham but they did reach the playoffs last season.
Wrexham are 8th - maybe not doing as well as they'd expected? With them it appears to be they score a lot of goals but concede far too many.
After listening to the Charles Methven podcast on sacking managers, it came across that the senior management team and director of football is a very important position. For our club that's Rodwell and Scott, previously it was Gallen (and Martin Sandgaard, that one definitely a disaster).
I think the Mark Hughes experiment shows that a manager who did a reasonable job at times in the Premier League won't necessarily be good at League Two. For a player, the better the player, the higher the level, but that is obviously not going to be true for coaches, just as a great lecturer at university may make a terrible primary or secondary school teacher.
The team in that league I've been watching with a lot of interest though is AFC Wimbledon. They're currently 2nd. Obvious reason why I'm watching them - Johnnie Jackson as their manager.

Bit of a strange one must be more than meets the eye.one point off second spot and sacked. Will all come out in the wash no doubt.

Can't stand the fat faced c*nt.
Nearly has a punch up with him a few seasons ago at the Valley. Even made the match commentary! 😄
A face you just want to hit.

Great that Jackson survived a blip and has come good but not much interest. Regarding Wrexham I've been following via Disney + and occasional highlights as the rise is not dissimilar to what happened at CAFC in the 90s. Have to say I predicted it would be a real challenge to make the top six for several reasons: - it's a different level of opponents from National League - some players have dropped down a level or two for cash / long contracts - others will have never played in the EFL - and Mullin was out injured after that friendly with Man Utd Interesting because this opens the door for any EFL club to be acquired by A listers looking to start on the ground floor. I'd predict promotion for them next season once they've found their feet and made a few changes next summer. But what do I know?

I'd predict promotion for them next season once they've found their feet and made a few changes next summer. But what do I know. I wouldn’t rule Wrexham out yet. Three teams have been too good for the National League over the last two seasons, Stockport County, Wrexham and Notts County. Notts are currently top of League Two, Stockport 4th with 20 points from 11 games, after a slow start, and Wrexham are just outside the playoff places. All three have a very decent chance of another promotion this season. That said, a friend of mine who watches Notts regularly thinks League Two is very strong, much more so than when Notts last played there. We could end up with a battle royal towards the end of the season with the three ex National League rivals scrapping it out for one or more of the promotion places.
