Maybe someone from the board, Rodwell possibly, should come out and be open about why we've made such a poor start this season and what the actual plan is to change this? I don't think Methven is, because he's probably not involved enough in that kind of thing, although he is the one more likely to speak out. reamsofverse you seem to have faith in this board, so what do you make of things so far? What exactly is their plan? |

I think we need to give Holden our support for 1 more season. I'm not a fan of chopping or changing, we need some consistency and stability in my opinion.
Hopefully he can bring in a striker and 2 more defenders at least, and then reshuffle again in January.
Having said this I've not been impressed with our style of football or shape and I think what we have already are capable of much better.
When you look at what Bowyer achieved with no money at all, it makes you realise what agood job he did for us.

Lee Bowyer did great for us under the circumstances he had. I’m not sure Holden is right man for us.

Bows had a much better squad in 18/19 … Lyle and Karlan up front, Paddy and Bielik at the back, Cullen and Joe in midfield plus a host of other experienced pros. The current squad is full of low brow players and willing kids. |

I don’t think Holden is the problem - the squad isn’t fully assembled yet in the words of all those that have spoken out officially.
It’s not a great situation but I’m prepared to give it time - at least until a few games after the window closes - then we will know what we as fans and Dean Holden, as Manager, have been dealt.

Whilst Holden isn’t great the plan is to develop young players , sell them on and try to keep the club afloat that way. Whether Holden is being encouraged to play so many youth players is something we don’t know but certainly expect the team to be full of as many as we can get away with. May doesn’t fit the mould but Sandgaard brought him in. Charlie and chums didn’t like the idea but could do nothing about it however it shows the model they want to employ. Young players in or youth players promoted to put them in the shop window.

It’s gonna take some building we may need to write off a season or three such has the decay taken hold. Patience is required something football fans know little about generally. Holden or anyone the club need rebuilding from the cellar to the roof and everything depends on how patient the owners are and what they long term view is. On the point of LB we had a very expensive team loans or not the quality was there. I see nothing to compare today. |
