Hopefully at least Edun (if not Taylor) is ready for Saturday. Would be lovely to get another striker in by then, but that tends to be the most transfer deadline day-like of positions.
Personally I'd pause the wingback idea until we have the players for it and go old school 4-4-2:
GK: Isted (resting AMB) RB: Egbo (resting Asiimwe as we shouldn't overwork the younglings) CB: Jones CB: Ness LB: Edun RM: CBT DM: Dobson (Camara isn't up to speed for two games a week yet) AM: Fraser LM: Kirk or Campbell (cases for both, neither ideal) 10: Hector (as a 6'4" target man heading shit down in the box) CF: May
This would give us a pretty old front two (including one who's actually a centre half) but they can draw defenders whilst the pace of our wingers hits them from the sides.
This is basically genius and I'm the cleverest tactician on Earth. No backsies.

Maynard-Brewer appears preferred Asiimwe played well vs Aberdeen Will Edun be fit? Should we play three centre backs vs Orient for 90 minutes? 3-5-2 or 4-3-3... do we have two fit strikers?
We all want the three points. But the club also needs to keep examining what works and what's needed before the window shuts.
Thursday presser will be interesting.

I’d probably go with May and Kanu up top. Not ideal but all the square peg round hole stuff does my head in. Kirk definitely ain’t the answer.

I think we’re going to win no matter who we put out but none of the teams listed are getting promoted. Some big time players are needed which won’t be a problem for our billionaire owners. We have so many of them now.

As well as some class players, you need players in the right positions, you need good tactics, and you need to be able to change the tactics if it isn't working, rather than try the same thing against every team.

Edun and Taylor won't feature as per Holdens comments the other day. They aren't ready. I don't know why they didn't get any minutes against Aberdeen though. Seems odd not to get them playing if they aren't match fit yet.
I think we'll start very similar to how we set up for Aberdeen. I think Thomas might start instead of Ness though. Kirk will hopefully be replaced. Would rather Campbell played tbh. He seems to like to drift around in a 'free role' type.
We hopefully have enough quality to win the game even though we know we're not where we need to be yet. It's not going to be easy though as they are a team that knows how they are setting up and playing. We're still learning with a lot of new/young players and missing key positions.

Pre-season is a different beast to league football. He’s had a good pre-season and Dean may reward him for that. But he’s not played much first team football. Hence why I’d go with Egbo for now.

In the third division you have to run the hard unforgiving yards as well as everything else. Alfie May seems to be a good example of this, as does Dobbo of course. I don’t see it from Kirk, and it isn’t always a given from Fraser. I would not play both of them and feel the obvious one to leave out is Kirk.

Seems stupid to play 3-5-2 when we:-
1. Don't have a fit LWB 2. Can't decide who is best right footed LCB 3. Only have one (diminutive) striker
It is crying out for 4-3-3 until we get bodies in/fit, but we haven't even tried it for a half in pre-season. Why?
