It’s been great seeing the new faces come in but, remember Ipswich scored around 100 league goals last year and only came second.. so, as it stands, have we got enough goals in the team to win more matches than last year?… I know 1-0 is still 3 points, but you need more than just single goals..

Couldn't agree more. I'd say we are on our way to having more goal threat than just solely the Strikers.Taylor's set piece quality should help our CB's bag more hopefully. I'd LOVE us to be team that always seem in with a shout carrying a constant threat.

The other three top four sides scored 80 last season whereas we managed 70 goals so perhaps not that far off. Where we defined ourselves as a mid-table side was in conceding 60 goals which is way more than the 35-47 goals conceded by the top seven sides. So they're letting in roughly a goal a game. And our expected goals paints an even bleaker picture, both for and against. We can talk about expensive strikers all day long, but perhaps the key is to improve our midfield significantly, and replace Rak-Sakyi of course.

We still lack goal threat, but I fancy us to have more possession than last season with this new midfield, which in turn should yield more goals

If you keep a clean sheet every game and never score more than one goal in a match you could become champions by scoring 23 goals in total.
