We barely give anyone a chance to prove themselves.
He wasn’t up to match fitness by the time he got injured. Don’t judge him too early. We are pretty good at that as a fan base!
I think there’s a player there

History tells us that he will take a long time to get back up to speed after such a long injury. Perhaps next season we might be able to judge him fully.

Do you seriously think that fans in other clubs don't judge players too soon?

I don’t follow other clubs closely but we do have a very vocal group of fans (at least on social media) who judge very quickly and very harshly imo. It’s also very hard then to change this view as others are influenced by it. I’m just saying what it feels like to me. Might just be due to our poor recruitment over the last few years. We are quick to put players in the ‘shit’ bracket as opposed to any other bracket. I personally don’t think it helps the players. The likelihood is that they will see some of the abuse on social media after all. As it can get very abusive. I’ve seen multiple fans write off players after one game!

I tend to give players time. I think I always have, but I did make a mistake with Karlan Grant. By the time he went off on loan to Crawley I had made my mind up that he wasn't going to make it. He'd made over 50 appearances by then and had showed me very little to make me believe that he had what it took. I was clearly wrong, but then he was only 20.
Having seen Terry Taylor play just five times for us it is a little early to make a final judgement but I do agree with those that have suggested that he hasn't shown much yet.
I would prefer to make sure he is completely fit and recovered before he gets much game time moving forward. He wasn't fit when he arrived and next season is much more important than this one, so if he plays a few games this season, and gets a full pre-season during the summer, I'm happy to reserve judgement on him until October

I don't think there's something in the water in SE London that makes people different from people in SE Manchester or SE Birmingham or wherever! So just as I don't think we are a special group of fans in a positive way, nor do I think we're special in a negative way. We're run of the mill human beings.

Looking forward to seeing him in the side he’s got talent how different this season would’ve been with him and Camara fit perhaps.

Anyone know what’s going on with Terry Taylor? Seems to have disappeared. Is it just a matter of getting up to speed with how NJ plays?

Anyone know what’s going on with Terry Taylor? Seems to have disappeared. Is it just a matter of getting up to speed with how NJ plays? 3-4 weeks ago our manager said Taylor was “back on the grass” and was at the same stage as Aneke in terms of a return to fitness. I can only assume that TT then dried himself off with Aneke’s towel in the dressing room, because he’s been AWOL again ever since. Let’s be honest - another crock & dire signing by Andy Scott.

Hugely disappointed with the Taylor situation. Thought we had a real player there but like Coventry I don’t think he has that high energy that Jones is after. There will a big clear out in the summer and I’ve got a feeling he will be another using the northern card.

There will a big clear out in the summer and I’ve got a feeling he will be another using the northern card. I think this is absolutely spot on - with the possible exception of the final sentence. Nathan Jones has clearly decided he wants to play a high intensity, aggressive and in your face style. He describes it as being on the front foot. Karoy Anderson is the poster child for this Jonesian revolution. He’s been absolutely terrific (despite the fact many of us didn’t think he was ready for the First XI), but what’s more remarkable is that he’s the most advanced of our midfield three. He’s not playing as a ‘10’, but he’s playing where a ‘10’ would be. It’s not so long ago that a number of posters “couldn’t understand why Appleton couldn’t see why L Watson should be starting at ‘10’”, concluding this was clear evidence Appleton didn’t know what he was doing. Now L Watson can’t get into an 18 man squad and he’s joined in the wilderness by Taylor, Fiorini and in the games against Northampton and Portsmouth by Coventry too. The question is whether this is short term tactical or long term strategic? Will Jones continue to play the way he’s started, eschewing players like Coventry, Watson and Taylor or look to evolve? If he sticks to his current approach for the remainder of this season, does he spend the summer getting players like Coventry and Taylor ‘up to speed’ with his style or look to move them on? It’s going to be interesting. My guess is that what we’re currently seeing is born out of necessity and the circumstances we find ourselves in and that Jones will evolve to introduce a bit more quality over time, giving players like Coventry and Taylor more opportunity to show what they can do, but who knows. I guess we’ll see.

Really with an eye on next season. At that point I don't think Mr Scott felt we were in a relegation battle. How clueless he has proven to be! Should've been buying a No.10 who can actually play this season!
