A comfortable win. Wealdstone provided good opposition but were less of a threat in the second half. Lovely goal from Anderson. Henry didn’t last long. Not sure about Thomas. Istead made one good save but had little else to do. CBT? On balance, with the addition of some new blood there’s the makings of a strong team but as always there’s still work to be done as one would expect at this stage of pre-season. Reasons to be confident though. Totally agree we need new wing backs either side who are used to playing in that position Anderson is the real deal and should be around the first team squad, unlike Henry who needs to get game time week in week out on loan |

My concern if Holden wants to play 3-5-2 the majority of the time is that you’re effectively carrying loads of dead weight in the team.
CBT, Campbell, Kirk, DJ, etc. CBT isn’t best as a LWB and leaves us too exposed out wide if he plays like a winger in this formation. He had a good return (Goals and Assists) last year but not playing LWB. It was when we played 4-3-3. If we are switching between the two (not seen that yet), then fine.
Otherwise, if we sign a good LWB then where is CBT playing? Where are we getting the assists and goals from the hole that JRS and CBT have left? Certainly isn’t from Egbo.
I don’t like to be negative but I think we are still some way from a top squad.
On the positive side. I really like the look of Camara. He could be very key for the middle of our midfield to work. Anderson and Asiimwe have impressed me. Campbell could be useful this year if we play wingers/wise attackers.

camara looked class. very impresses by Jones too.
wing backs is the area we need strengthening. Asimwe loosk the only one really equipped to play there, but we can't expect him to play 40+ games.
can't help feeling there us a good player in Charlie Kirk. he does some excellent things at times. a bit of a luxury maybe but could be an effective number 10.

Ain’t Egbo a typical wing back? I thought he was decent going forward and a decent athlete. Was hoping he’d be the business but don’t sound like it so far.

That tells me we will be adding new players but not necessarily before the Orient game. Or we will but the players won't be ready in time.

egbo has been steady. but jot potent enough going forward. Asimwe looks more threatening
