Hi guys don't want to be all doom and gloom.But just want to say if your wee habits change,see blood in your urine,side back pain and lower stomach and groin pain.Please see the doctor ASAP as I did.No blood in my pee but had scan,blood tests and urine tests.
MRI and Ultrasound picked up an abnormalitie in my bladder. Which turned out to be a tumour on the bladder wall.Had operation on the Friday came out Saturday afternoon. Op went well follow up appointment in 4 weeks time. Biopsy taken and sent off to the lab.Just becareful guys and look after your health.

Speaking from experience, one never knows exactly what’s going on with one’s body and to be diagnosed with any form of cancer comes as a huge shock. When I saw the ads on TV I used to dismiss the line that one in two of the population will get cancer as a scare story but now I know how true that fact is. Simply attending the chemo unit at Dartford hospital and seeing so many people, male and female, being treated for so many variations of the disease is a sobering experience. I sincerely hope that your treatment works and you make a full recovery. Sometimes there’s more to life than football.🙏 |

Sorry to hear that Wiggy, hope you have a successful follow up in a few weeks time. In a similar vein fellas, get yourselves tested for prostate cancer. Just a simple blood test can catch it early. I had one in 2018, mainly because of the wife nagging (thankfully!) and Charlton offering them before the game. To my astonishment I had a reading of 13 (should be below 4), I had no symptom's at all. I had an operation then and further treatment since (in Spain) and thankfully my PSA level is now 0.4. If you're over 50, get a test, you know it makes sense! |

Thank you all for the kind words. I have to admit when he said tumour on my bladder I cried.But it's the low level only inside bladder wall I believe. So hope they got it all surgeon seemed confident. 2 weeks time I'm off to Turkey wifes treat then my follow up.Something planned in October that I thought I would do.Stay safe and Come on you Reds .

Since I have retired, I'm having anything going in the way of tests, vaccinations etc.
You are totally right Wiggy. Prevention better than cure, if not - get it early.

Just picked up on this thread and so pleased that you picked up on this early enough Andy.
You’re 100% right in saying that you need to take medical advice as soon as possible and so pleased to hear that your prognosis is very positive.
As the years march on we are more susceptible to medical issues and every year me and her indoors have a Bluecrest health check ‘just in case’.
Hope all goes well for you and anyone else on here suffering from physical or mental issues.

UPDATE # So the tumour showed a few signs of cancer.Non muscle invasive low grade.Start 6 weeks of cemo injected into my bladder.Then camera check if all OK 3month check then a yearly check.Time is precious and so is life really hits home but glad I got checked out .Come on you reds .Once again thank you all for your kind messages hopefully meet up for one game when I can.
