Daft. Obviously had someone earmarked. Will be very interesting to see who it is. Got to feel a little sorry for O'Neil

I think these clubs are of the opinion they are bigger and better than what they are. Visions of granduer beyond their station.

I think these clubs are of the opinion they are bigger and better than what they are. Visions of granduer beyond their station. With in excess of £100m TV money the Premier League clubs should all have top, elite, managers. Just because Bournemouth got lucky with three big and/or, established, clubs determined to fall apart this season, doesn’t mean that they will avoid the drop next season. He has only had one season in management and, with all due respect, clubs in a league where all teams have turn overs in the hundreds of millions a rookie manager is a bit of a gamble. I suspect he only got the job because Parker made it clear that the club had no chance with the lack of quality signings. I doubt there were many takers for the job then, with the transfer window closed. Now the club have been able to approach who they want and give them a big salary and a chance to build their own squad. For reference, I don’t like Bournemouth so I’m not, particularly, defending the club.

I accept what you say, but to many clubs use their managers like pawns, especially when the manager does an outstanding job in the circumstances they find themselves, only to succeed, (relatively speaking) and then get the boot. The Sheffield Wednesday case is a different scenario.
