Reading possibly to be deducted points for late payment of wages during 22/23 season.

Time the EFL really come down hard on these clubs now instead of a silly fine or couple of points deduction.. automatic relegation , teams that are trying to stay within the rules during tough Financial Times are the ones getting punished

Completely agree BB. The tin pot punishments meted out to certain clubs whilst others play by the rules is a disgrace.

I see Robinson has ruled himself out of the manager's job, don't blame him.

At present the bookmakers have us as about 7th favourite, but with Reading one of the teams above us. If Reading are in financial trouble and have points deductions that may push us into the top 6.

I'd like to see us in the top two at the end of the season, but wouldn't we all. I hope the takeover happens soon, then we can start talking seriously about football. Must be patient!!

Wouldn't surprise me if they made an approach for Parky. Was their captain once upon a time.

Charlie Methven suggested it's a 2 year plan regarding promotion, so big improvement this year but not expecting anything great, but building up for the following season.
There will be off days in any season, there were a couple of bad performances the year we went up with 101 points, and of course Plymouth had an off day at our ground last season and also at Peterborough, but it will be good if we can turn up and see most of the time decent football that we can talk about.

Given the mess they are in and the financial support of Wrexham by their owners perhaps Parky will be better advised to stay put in North Wales! I guess it depends what the perception of the expected outcome of this season is, from the owners and sponsors, compared to what Parkinson thinks he can achieve. If the resources are going to keep rising then promotion into League One might be a possibility, if not this season then next. If in League one the owners are going to fund another promotion squad then Wrexham could out perform Reading - this is especially true if Reading continue to struggle to reduce their wage bill. I guess there is a totally different kind of pressure from being asked to work miracles with a limited budget and being expected to win everything in sight with a massive budget (relative to the division etc.). Parkinson might favour one over the other. This, obviously, ignores the contracts that he is offered both in terms of income and length. Money talks!
