If the change of ownership happens next week, for me, the priority is a top striker… imagine if we signed Clarke-Harris from Peterborough as an example… I think it becomes a catalyst for others to want to join us as well… it’s the most important and iconic position and you don’t get promoted without one! Here’s to hoping….a “main man” would give us all a massive lift…

Agree entirely but available goal scorers are few and far between, May would be ideal but money always talks and if Wrexham want him I think their financial clout will make the difference The problem is every club is on the look out for the same, goals win you championships Hoping we get the new ownership and a completel new recruitment broom as our present one spent both summer and January windows chasing Bonne…. so let that sink in for a while😳
When was the last time we went out with real intent to get a quality goal scorer in, Lyle Taylor maybe?
I would take Stockton on a free as I think he would score goals with better players around him and I can remember him bully our back four on more than one occasion
All depends really on how ambitious the new owners are and if they are prepared to pay some serious fees to get some serious fire power into the club
Interesting 2 months to come

Posh have shown us the way … spend £1m or so on a proven youngish lower division striker with a future and then flog him on for a huge fee and then repeat and repeat and repeat!

They have a streetwise Chairman, a decent manager and a bloody good recruitment process, something we can learn from along side clubs like Plymouth and Bolton

Sensible free's like one of Stockton,Sam Smith,And I'd seriously look at Ladapo if Ipswich wanted to part with him,or Alfie May if that was feasible. A revamped strike force with a rapidly progressing Leaburn would be a great start IMHO.

Agreed their striker recruitment is TOP notch always had goals in them. Ideally you would share goals around the team, but we NEED a killer similar to Clarke-Harris.

It all depends how Holden going to play if he going 433 like we have been then he will stick to a big man up top .. so that rules out players like May and Smith.

If we are to loan U21 talent from our London EPL neighbours then one would expect to play something similar. Decent strikers aren't cheap and can waste an awful lot of money as we have all seen. Getting the best squad for the budget available has to be the priority - we might already have eight or nine of the 16 who play most often. Meaning we need seven quality additions.

It does depend on what formation Holden wants to, play but I don’t think it’s as simple as “1 upfront so he must be a targetman/lump”. Depends on the support provided by the other attackers. Agree that a marquee signing in this area early on in the window would be great to encourage others to join.

Lyle Taylor was free and Grant through the Academy. Not sure we need to whack out huge sums. You could buy a team in league one for that. Not sure Plymouth spent that.

Nobosy sticks a bigt man up top anymore. centre halves and in many cases, centre forwards just don't exist anymore. Striekrs these days have to be all round players who have the ability to get the farthest forward. The day's of a number 9 are gone. I would like to see us make a move for Aaron Collins at Bristol Rovers.

Apart from Haarland, Mitrovik, Kane, Ferguson, Gordon, Watkins, Toney, Bamford, Solanke, Costa, Ings, Antonio, and that's just current Premiership. Not that I advocate a bulldozer No9, prefer a pacy, physical striker that works CBs, like Vetokele, Lisbie, or a Sheringham, LeTiss type who defenders can't work out. That's why my top four buys are 1. Al Hamadi 2. Kab Tsimanga 3. Sam Nombe 4. Jerry Yates Only one over 6ft but all pacy and in your face.
