Thank God it’s over
To sum up, after 46 games we have ended up in midtable, 15 points outside of teh play-offs.
The stats don’t lie, and we are a bang average League One side, with 3 or 4 decent players.
A massive Summer now lies ahead. Bodies have to leave STARTING with the owner and should JF and his team come in they need to get rid of Keohane and storie too.
Decent players need to be brought in. I like Cambridge striker Sam Smith who has netted 14 goals this season the last of which was a cross between Yann kermogant and Marco Van Basten against Forest green today!!

It took Ipswich 2 seasons from when they started the clearout to when they became a challenging team that won promotion, so we might expect the same.
The 2021-22 season ended well for Ipswich paving the way for the season to come.
Would someone explain to me the rise and fall of MK Dons. So good last season, so bad this year. We don't want that to happen to us.

Let's face it, we're in for one of two eventualities this summer:
1) Sandgaard holds on greedily for either a % of the club or for a larger up-front payment way above valuation and if so, we have next to no hope in hell of signing anybody of any quality. The rebuild will solely be down to which freebies and loans the combined genius of Gallen and Martin can muster up in which case we could very well be the MK Dons of next year. Add to that losing Leaburn to help bridge the summer losses without any hope of reinvestment into the playing squad.
2) JF consortium come in, establish their team and budget giving Holden the proper tools to fund a rebuild. Leaburn wouldn't need to be sold unless for a fantastic price which I have no doubt they'd use to re-invest into our infrastructure in the hopes of building a promotion challenging squad. Honestly, outside of Dobson, Leaburn, possibly Fraser and possibly Egbo when fit, I don't think any of the remaining squad are at the level to help us challenge. Yet again we require a complete gutting - this new consortium are the only ones who strike me as being close to capable of facing such a task.
Bottom line, next season depends on whether Sandgaard wakes up and gets out.

The small share-holding for Sandgaard, if he gets it, would only be to allow him to sell those shares at a profit if the team gets promoted under the new owners. He wouldn't have a controlling share-holding and his son would not be part of the club.

In any case, we know who the relegated teams are, and who has been relegated into this division (Reading, Blackpool and Wigan). I'm not sure how serious a threat the 3 that dropped down are going to be. Not sure what the financial position for Derby County will be, who are certain to be in league one next season now. Also not sure on the situation with Sheffield Wednesday if they don't make it up - will Barry Bannon get sold, as I can't see he'd want to spend another season in this division. What is their financial position going to be if they're still down here? Those coming up will include Leyton Orient and Stevenage. We'll soon see at least one of them that joins. Obviously we have to improve our team, but is next season going to be "the one" where say 89 points would get us automatic promotion?
Early in the season I watched Charlton smash Plymouth 5-1. One of those teams went up with 101 points... The other finished mid-table with 62. You wouldn't have guessed which was which at the time.

I think Blackpool will be a threat, but both Wigan and Reading are in dire straits. That of course, doesn't mean that they won't 'go for broke' and try for an immediate return by living beyond their means.

Derby were supposed to be in dire straits. Ok, in the end they missed the playoffs but were still a lot better off than us.

I was thinking of making it a bit bigger actually Jonkool so it could include a bell end on it. Might do the same for a flag we can use for Nick Gray and Pat Law!!

I think aimless is the perfect word, here. In some ways, the season-ending table isn't enormously disappointing given the year's start and numerous problems thereafter. There is no aim, though. It's a rudderless ship.

Longest run outside the top two divisions since the 1920's. Accept the bid and go Sandgaard and save what little face you have left!

The last two times we came down here, in 2009 and 2016, we went back up 3 years later, and in both those runs we also had one season where we failed in the playoffs.
This time the best way managed was missing out on the playoffs on goal-difference in the first season and maybe we all hoped we'd push on from there.
