I see Villa are the current favourites to sign him.

He won't go this summer.

The only positive is he's contracted until 2025. I fully expect him to leave this summer but a loan-back would be amazing.

I hope you are correct but unless we get someone who is prepared to invest substantially in the club, we ain't got no money.

He's not ready for the Championship yet, let alone the premiership, he does have the potential but should grow with us for a couple years. The trouble is as soon as your wages are trebling its hard for the player to turn down and a skint owner to turn down a fee.

If they are interested in him then we need to get Barry Fry in to do the negotiations on our behalf. Then at least we will get a decent deal.

Going no where lol
Everything has a price !
£6 million he is yours.
100% of it goes towards the transfer kitty. Oh shame that Sandgaard will still be in charge either by himself or by stealth and will be used to try and break even.
If he didn’t have a lot of injuries I would keep but…

We all know there is a price we couldn't turn down. However, this message is much better than the previous ones from TS which were basically "Yeah he's for sale if you offer £1m plus sell on". At least this is sounding like we'd turn those offers down.

Charlton Athletic forward, Miles Leaburn, is on the radar of Blackburn Rovers, Luton Town and Millwall heading into the summer, sources have explained to Football League World. He will be on, virtually, every Championship club's radar. He has looked fantastic in his first season and, like the Brentford model, he could be signed by a Championship club for less than £2m, have one or two great seasons in the Championship then move to a Premier League club for over £30m. Why would any Championship club not want that? Clearly Miles might not develop in that way but it is a, relatively, small risk when the club you are signing him from has an owner that will sell anything he can and who's son runs the recruitment and is, clearly, incompetent. The truth is that we need to be in the Championship to benefit from that kind of player trading. It's interesting, though, that the only players that we, as a club, haven't lost money on, since Sandgaard arrived, were those that were already here. Not only do have players that we can't sell for more than we paid for them, but for many of them we would have to pay them off to get them out of the door. I'm confident that the wages of the players we have out on loan are being, partly, subsidised by us. I, also, suspect the clubs, they are with, would not offer the the same wages that we are committed to pay them. The recruitment since the Sandgaard clan arrived has been shocking. I'd go as far as to say that we haven't brought in one player (on a permanent deal) that would get into the first eleven of any of the top four teams in this division.

Let’s be clear.. Miles has had a decent season and has made an impact but he is a long way off from being a Championship striker and needs to dominate his markers before going up a notch.. predators are just looking for a bargain with a sell on profit.. like with many of our players

All the talk was of Stockley and Aneke not being good enough. I'm no expert on player development but look at his progress to date. Then consider how quickly might Leaburn grow into a fully fledged Championship striker? And do we have the management ability and sports science to help him get there? After early bird ST sales there's no money coming in until August but May, June and July payroll needs to be met. Is that Sandgaard, a new owner or player sales which foots the bill? Obviously our club will make far more if Leaburn stays until 2024... and he might be in a better place to negotiate an appropriate move... Time will tell.

Don't be clowns. He will go to a PL club in the summer and a loan to a Champs club for the season most likely.
We won't see him in a Charlton shirt again - you're living in nutnut land if you think we will.
He's too good for us, we're dogshit now. End of.

If we do have to sell, I would insist on getting him loaned back next season. He could score 20 in League One next season with the right service, in my view

We never sell these players for enough though, then another club sells him on for a much bigger amount, or doesn't sell him but he becomes a major part of a big team.
And I don't see the money used to invest back into the team - well just once, Chris Powell in the summer of 2011. There may be a few sell-on clauses. I have no idea how much we ever got for Nick Pope but it didn't seem to help us that much. He and Gudmunsson were both sold to Burnley in the summer of 2016 and we didn't go anywhere near getting promoted that season, and we sold a couple of others too.
20 million (Aston Villa can afford that) and use all of that to build a squad and I'll be satisfied.
You could say the same should have happened when we sold Darren Bent to Tottenham in 2007 for about 16 million: He wasn't worth that at the time and didn't do that well for them. Harry Redknapp quickly sold him on for a lot less.. But with that money we should have been able to build a decent squad. Instead we just got relegated again 2 seasons later.
In both the times we went down before (2009 and 2016) we actually went down rather badly, but had 1 mediocre mid-table season, one failed playoff and got promoted on the 3rd season. But this time we narrowly got relgated in 2020, one just missing the playoffs followed by 2 mediocre mid-table seasons.
