Article in today’s Times. Not particularly insightful and might have been headed ‘A fool and his money are easily parted’, but I thought some might be interested.

Does sound like only Sandgaard could be stupid enough to turn them down. Reckon they might return or has Sandgaard put them off him?

I think he thinks he is one of them, he got in early and still believes he can turn it around and make the big bucks. Unfortunately he hasn't got the risk money needed it seems.

My big take from that article is the suggestion that you can buy, say, Portsmouth for a fraction of what you'd pay for Chelsea (1/441st) and then turn it into Chelsea.
In my mind it would take, almost, unlimited success for a couple of decades before Portsmouth could be thought of in the same way as Chelsea, and that success could, easily, cost more that Chelsea did. Sure getting to be a mid-table Premier League club banking c. £200m a season is possible - expensive, but possible! What everyone seems to forget to mention, though, is that to keep a club the Premier League, probably, costs more than c. £200m a season.
So, whatever it costs to get a club into the Premier League has to be spent and then all the extra revenue has to be spent to keep it there. In fact, I would speculate that the MPC is more than 1x the extra TV revenue, unless the goal is to go up and come back down again.
All of this ignores, as Mundell stated above, that if it doesn't work the new owner will have spent a fortune that he/she will never see again.
Sadly there seems to be no shortfall of arrogant narcissists in the good old U.S. of A. so I guess the flow of American owners will continue for a while yet.

CM's group have been approached by three clubs over here in L1 and L2. Of course they have. Any owner with a club with debts would be delighted to sell their club for a few million and leave someone else to fund the losses. On the basis that many (if not most/all) owners are fans and want their club to do well it would be a dream to find someone that would fund success.

Maybe because the middle men are so active in looking for a payday.
Only takes research and an email to start off a conversation.
