Not greatly surprised … a tier 4 or 5 player! By this time next week I fear that we’ll be disappointed that we didn’t sign him back.

Doncaster Rovers must have a death wish.
They have given Joe Dodoo a two year contract today.
We have certainly had some shocking strikers at our place in the last 5 years …
Omar Bogle
Josh Parker
Joe Dodoo
Ronnie Schwartz
Hard to say which of those was the worst.

Got to say, as much as he was a crap player. Josh Parker always gave 110% when he played. Regardless of his skillset, he was always up for it and ready to attack which is what I appreciate about a player.

But he was a bit crap though.

Joe Doodo was by far the worst player for me. How he’s a professional footballer I’ll never know.

Not sure you can say ronnie is the worst when he scored...Parker didnt. Unlike the others Schwartz did come with a pedigree of scoring goals. I dont think he is done yet and with actual wingers who cross which he previously thrived us, we may yet be pleasantly surprised...but who knows

I predicted that he would go back to Denmark on loan on deadline day as to date the move hasn’t worked out for either parties but with him staying you have to feel that he will be integrated back into the squad/ side at some stage soon….. There are different reasons why the move hasn’t worked out so far, our predictable hoof ball style last season was never going to suit a player like Schwartz…….this season with the creativity of Arter, Kirk, DJ, Lee and Gilby we may see a different player as long as we try to play through the lines and not go direct………but time will tell on this…

However, I think the jury is still out on if he is good enough for the challenges of the English third division. His career has all been in Denmark where the level, and style, of football is different. I saw little to make me believe that he would be a success for us, admittedly the main reason for that is that I saw him play so few minutes, and it was all on the tele where you cant, really, see his runs off the ball etc. Ronnie has had just two decent spells in his career, 2011-14 (37 goals) and 2018-20 (37 goals). Other than these two he has only scored a handful of goals and only scored 18 goals between 2014 and 2018. He has, also, only scored 7 goals in the last year. That, plus his inability go get him self fit enough to even sit on the bench for us, a month after the season has started, makes me wonder if he is only with us becasue no one else will give him a contract - and he has two years left with us. I hope that I'm proved wrong and he comes into the side and scores the goals that enable us to climb the table and win promotion, I just don't see it, personally.

I’d agree with that assessment kings hill addick and I’d add the following. Ronnie Schwartz has only played more than ten 90 mins equivalent in a season once since 2015-16 and in only two seasons has he played more than twenty 90 minutes equivalent in a career which began way back in 2007-08. We simply didn’t do our homework when we signed him. It looks to me as if Thomas Sandgaard was seduced by Rasmus Ankersen’s tales of success at Midtjylland and Brentford. As I noted on another thread, having signed Pape Souare we’re going to have to omit two senior players from our squad of 22. One will be Jake Forster-Caskey and it’s not inconceivable that Schwartz could be the other, though I suspect a National League loan for Ben Dempsey (if one can be organised) will probably suit the club better.

I did a Twitter poll on this. Out of over 200 votes, CAFC fans voted the following the worst (in order)
1. Bogle
2. Schwartz
3. Dodoo
4. Parker
There was a lot of sentimentality for Josh because of Wembley.

Schwartz has to be the worst as he can't even get on the pitch!

I personally think ability wise he is the best of that bad bunch, why he is not being considered is a mystery?…Surely he has been training enough to be considered ready for some sort of action even if that is the Under 23 game tomorrow? We know he played 45 mins in a friendly about 10 days ago?……if he wasn’t training to the correct intensity then surely there would have been talk about off loading him on loan back to Denmark on deadline day but there were no rumours about this…..Maybe something else is a factor behind this, who knows?? I think NA needs to come clean on Thursday with his weekly press conference and give an honest appraisal of where we are with him to stop the speculation…..surely he can’t trot out the same excuse that he is still behind with his training??

I keep reading that we want to offload him and ask why hasn’t he gone. It’s simple we are committed to pay him an obscene amount of money for the next two years and he has, virtually, nothing to offer. No one will take him; no one wants him; even if we offered to pay up his contract in full he might still insist on hanging around. He is going to be here with us until he can demonstrate that he can play - something he couldn’t do before we signed him and something that he has failed to do since we signed him.
