Joke of a decision by Kettle to send him off, but maybe he’s done us a favour with Pearce being out for a game. Hopefully we sign a new centre half, if not Mingi can’t be any worse that that.

I did think he, or his agent, had done very well to get a year’s extension in the summer of 2019. He looked a little off the pace last season. This season he looks past it.
I have nothing against him, and he has done well for us during his time here but I don’t think he’s up to it at this level any more.
Having said that I don’t think I’d want to drop him for Deji, who has, always, looked like a mistake waiting to happen.
I don’t think either of them will play many times for a side that gets promoted. I’d be happy to see them both moved on if we could get a replacement, or two, in this month.

Pearce struggled in League One two seasons ago. Anyone remember the goal we conceded at Portsmouth away, or at QPR in the Championship last season? He is a carthorse with ball to feet. He has to be top of the "Released List" this summer.

His form has really dropped off. I guess age and injuries are now catching up with him. But alongside a league 2 defender, the frailties are coming to the fore.

He's been a good player for us, but it's over for him now. We need a CB this window, desperately.

Personally I don’t think you can fault Pearce’s attitude or determination to do well whenever he’s on the pitch , but it does seem that maybe his legs have gone , he’s struggled mightily so far this season..
On a separate note I thought it was a very harsh yellow card , he was inches away from connecting with the ball and imo he had every right to go for it...

A few games off might do him some good.

A few games off might do him some good. I think maybe about 25 games off if we had Famewo and Innis back

I have always liked Pearce. A 100 percent player. Committed, fearless Leader and always led the way with his attitude . Rarely got out muscled or beaten in the air.
Unfortunately, for me this season , since he's come back from his last injury he looks a different player. He never has possessed pace , but this year he seems to have aged 5 years. A real shame , he's been a very good servant. It seems father time has caught up with him and his CAFC days are over.

On a positive I remember his game against Mitrovic and despite Mitrovic getting a goal in the end it was an enormous game from Pearce, with mutual respect at the end between the players. I guess he is coming to the end now, but I'm sure he could do a decent job in L2. Don't forget that he has been there when we needed him and never gave less than 100%.
