All the best Dillon.
Lee Bowyer wished the Addicks’ academy graduate well following his departure.
Phillips joined the club’s esteemed academy at the age of eight and progressed through to the Charlton first team, playing 102 games for the club.
The Charlton Manager said: “I gave him his opportunity and he grabbed it with both hands and didn’t let go. Now is time for him to move on. He has been exceptional for me and I can’t fault him in any way. He’s made save-after-save, has been great around the place – very professional. He’s worked hard and he’s got his reward for working hard.
“This club is very good at bringing people through. He started at the academy and slowly but surely came through. Andy Marshall has worked really well with him and improved him a lot, so hopefully he keeps that work rate up and keeps progressing.
“We’ve got Ben Amos, who is a good goalie, and Ashley [Maynard-Brewer] as number two – so we focus on looking forward.”

Bit gutted he’s left tbh but seems like he decided it was time to move on. Hope he gets his chance at Cardiff. Fighting with two other keepers. Be a waste not to be playing imo.

I wish him good luck, but it did end sourly. When a player states that he is not going to sign a new contract for whatever reason, it will always leave a bad taste in the mouth for some fans.

Shame it's ended like this, but he did really well for us and he clearly considers himself a Championship-calibre goalie. It may have taken until the dying moments of the window, but clearly Cardiff think he is too, so it was the right decision for him in the end.
Be interesting to see if he becomes their number one this season.

Outstanding shot stopper for sure but can't dominate his area given his lack of height - I much prefer Amos as a result.

Dillon did well for us after finally getting his chance, so good luck to him.
He wanted to stay in the Championship, so I hope he doesn’t spend the season sitting on the bench there. I can’t see him being happy with that, even if the pay is better.
He must be quite confident of becoming their number one.

Saw £400,000 fee was mentioned yesterday in one Daily. Perhaps Reams can get some info from his Cardiff connections, as some above have requested, would be handy to know. Think he was worth a lot more than £400,000!

Think he was worth a lot more than £400,000! Indeed, but more than we, would have got in June. I think Ashley Maynard-Brewer could be 1st choice next season...

He will be forever known as the Wembley wally. and our fans player of the year 19/20. A bit of respect for that surely??? Ive spent two years telling people the pitch was umeven, the ball was under inflated and at least two Millwall players were offside, so now hes gone I don't have to anymore.

Classy way to say goodbye... he did nothing wrong just didn't want to sign a new contract which is his right.

Good lad. He worked hard, took his chance and proved a lot of people wrong. I hope he gets a chance to prove himself at Cardiff.
