We seem to have a lot of experience in the dressing room now and Gunter is definitely a positive signing. But I'm sure fans are still worrying where the goals are coming from.

Captaining Wales against the USA tonight in a game where he is earning his 99th cap. Well done Chris.

He's been a good acquisition I would say better than good Cants given his experience at right back plus the excellent performance at CB too

Interesting that Levitt starts. He must be highly rated.

Played 90 minutes for Wales yesterday (on the right hand side)
Did give away a penalty after getting done by a bounce - clip starts around the 1 minute mark in the below video:

The striker is cheating. Maybe it's a foul for dnagerous play but the player on the floor holding his face knows he is cheating.

All the time there is no punishment for it, there is no incentive for the cheaters to stop. A two or three game ban would stop it, almost, completely.

Somebody close to the Welsh set up tonight has told me that we circulated Gunter's availability to clubs but there were no takers. Terminating the contract by mutual consent would have been the most likely outcome if it had not been for Wales' involvement in the World Cup play-off's. Being without a club may have affected his squad selection.

The club's a soft touch as per usual. Get rid, it's not on us to ensure he can get in the Welsh squad, it's his.
If he was good enough for, lest we forget, a League One club he would be playing. Another one I can't wait to see the back of. How he plays international football is frankly beyond me.

Might prove to be a good signing for AFC Wimbledon for all I know and, to be fair, its not really possible to comment sensibly without knowing anything about the rest of their squad and, hence, what kind of role Gunther might play, both on and off the pitch.
However, I think I'd expect a club like AFC Wimbledon to sign young players with potential or struggling professionals that might come good (Taylor, Pigott) or rough diamonds that need polishing, rather than seasoned professionals (Gunther will be 33 before the season starts) who may not come cheap.
Frankly, this is how I feared Jackson might have approached the window with us had he stayed, i.e. aim to recruit experience rather than potential, and if this was his mindset it may well have been an important factor in his departure.

After having watched Gunter for two years and yet still signing him, perhaps Jacko's judgement is not quite what I thought!

Wasting Wimbledon’s money, surely.. there are many options!

Jackson clearly sees Gunter as able to do a job for him.
He has continued to play for Wales during his time with us whilst not being selected in a struggling level 3 team.
What went wrong whilst Gunter was with us?

My cousin is a Reading fan and he really can't understand why we didn't rate Gunter. I don't know what happened with us. Whether our style didn't suit him, or he never really settled at the club I don't know.
I thought he would be good, but that wasn't be. I wish him luck.

I'm a bit of a broken record on this, but for me the big question since relegation from the Championship has been whether our poor results were down to the players or the result of poor management and coaching. While fans have, perhaps inevitably, tended to focus on the players, highlighting individual errors or misplaced passes etc, my own view has been that the underlying problem has been the complete lack of any playing style, beyond "the players need to give everything for the shirt, stop making mistakes and missing chances", and the absence of any evidence that the players were being coached, either individually or collectively. I'm also surprised AFC Wimbledon have signed Chris Gunther, but I don't find it hard to believe that he was able to show himself in a better light with both Reading and Wales than he did with us.

Last season was a mess … end of!
We started with Adkins 4-3-3 and then switched to 3-5-2 when Jacko took over the reins.
Under Jacko he wasn’t suited as a wing back and got bullied when in the back three. We were 2 up on a Tuesday evening at Morecambe when he was physically pushed back into the pen area by their aggressive striker who then went down and was awarded a pen. From then on he looked his age and appeared to be physically challenged.
