Apparently he scored a hat trick for the Under23s yesterday in the 4-2 win against Swansea. Should he be put straight back into the team against Fulham?

Unless we sign someone of a much better calibre than Chucks, if he’s fit of course he should be included in the squad on Wednesday. Maybe not to start but to be at least available from the bench, if needed. All hands to the pumps!

Surely if he is available then he must play some part in the match, either starting or on the bench. At this moment in time we need all hands to the pumps.

Why not put him on the bench ahead of Hemed if you’re not even going to bring Hemed on when 3-1 down?

Aneke is probably unfancied by our manager just the way Morgan is.
Not sure how Bowyer qualifies to make that decision really because I can't think of one player he has improved as a coach or manager.

Whatever the reasons were for not selecting Aneke for the squad today, one has to question why Hemed was on the bench but was an unused sub. Is he yet another player not fancied by the manager? The bloke is no favourite of mine, in fact a massive disappointment, but it’s not as if he hasn’t scored goals in his career so why select him but not use him? Particularly as only two subs were used when three are allowed. Suggestions anyone?

I know this is sacralise, but I have been very disappointed with Williams. He never scores and he always ends up on the grass. We desperately need more guile and a goal threat from midfield.

Conor was our X factor - he has great athleticism, technically more than sound, can tackle, relatively disciplined, a great range of passing, can dribble and boy can he shoot. Our best chance is if Macca and Lyle stay fit with Andre and Jonny behind them and Davis becoming a dominant box to box player with Josh and Pratts/Sam/the Man C new guy filling in in front of the defence. Alfie and others will be needed and I remain upbeat that we will have enough to stay out of the bottom three when the boys walk off the pitch at Elland Road in May.

I agree entirely re Conor Gallagher. He’s a very big loss. He’s clearly not been replaced. I think we’re missing Leko too, though in a different way obviously. You haven’t mentioned Aiden McGeady. He might just be the player to provide the X factor. Bowyer’s problem might well be where to play him and, more importantly, how to accommodate him within his game plan. However, there’s no doubt that McGeady has the ability to win us a game or two which we might otherwise have lost. He appears to be a tremendous finisher off both feet.

Yes I have overlooked Aiden partly owing to the fact that he hasn’t played for a good while and is going to take time to get up to speed. But he does have quality providing he is match fit and is sufficiently hungry and I don’t mean for Big Macs.

Not sure how Bowyer qualifies to make that decision really because I can't think of one player he has improved as a coach or manager. I would list Cullen, Bielik, Aribo, Taylor, Gallagher (although, maybe less than the rest), Karlan Grant and Djiksteel. Maybe one or two more that I’ve forgotten. I think your resentment towards Bowyer and Gallen and Southall and two thirds of the players might be more emotional than logical. Either way I think that, despite their limitations, the players and the management team have achieved more than you give them credit for. Most teams that are promoted struggle in the Championship and the target was always to finish outside of the bottom three and, even though we are as close to that, now, as we’ve been all season, we haven’t been in the relegation zone all season. There was never going to be much money to spend in the summer and it was always going to be difficult to attract good Championship standard players in January. Not only is it a bad transfer window for value for money, few players that are good enough to push us on next season and beyond we’re going to take a gamble with us when relegation is a real possibility. I was as disappointed as you were with the lack of investment in the squad last month, but it was never going to be easy to sign players good enough for a top six side. Southall shot his mouth off too early, but if that turns out to be his worse crime then he’s not so bad. I, personally, don’t think that Southall has been completely upfront with the fans, but at this point I’m going to wait and see because there is nothing else I can, realistically, do. However I think that Bowyer and Gallen have done more than enough for us to give them unwavering support until the end of the season.

Joe Allen had Williams in his pocket yesterday. I'm with you Dick, he's overrated. Every Palace fan who I spoke to about Williams that they always referred him as Jonniniesta and I can see why. Iniesta record for Barcelona was 35 goals in 442 appearances but he is regarded as one of the best midfielders Barcelona had. What I like about Jonny is that he gives 100% every time and I think he’s a really good holding midfielder. He made a huge difference in the Playoff final as he was getting stuck in and being a nuisance. I think he gets picked on by the opposition as he is being a nuisance. I don’t think you can regard one game based on his overall ability for us.
