Barnsley won’t get anything at Brentford

The last round of games will be a pulsating, nerve racking time for all involved, notwithstanding potential points deductions for Wigan and Sheffield Wednesday.
Last day relegation is a long lasting pain that lingers long in the memory of supporters - just ask anyone who was at Bloomfield Road on 29 April 1972.

This heaps even more pressure on the EFL. It’s now possible that all three promoted clubs, Barnsley, Charlton and Luton could survive!! How extraordinary would that be. What a final day of the season we’re going to have.

Helps us a tad I would say.
The reason is this. They won't win at Brentford but they will go there and have a right go at them which might just make like a bit easier for Fulham knowing that Brentford now have a very difficult game on the last day. Today's result has boosted Fulham who who now have even more reason to go and win at Wigan.

This weekend has been a disaster for us. Think we will need to go and get a win at Leeds. Barnsley looked good today. Not made much difference really now it’s 2 from 3 teams that have to better our result against Leeds.... Rather be in our position than any of the others needing help.... It’s in our own hands....

Problem with Barnsley is they don’t travel well .. at home they can beat anyone and that’s what kept them alive this long ..

Luton have Blackburn at home - could be the easiest game. Blackburn could play with freedom and Luton could be nervous.
We play Leeds who are the Champions but don’t need a point - again they could play with freedom and we could be nervous.
Barnsley and Wigan (both of whom need to win to stay up) are playing sides that are full of players who could change their lives, for ever, if they win and WBA (and, in Fulham’s case, Brentford) don’t. Brentford only need a draw if neither Fulham nor WBA win.
Both of those games are going to huge for all four teams. Nerves could play a massive part but, when it all comes down to it, you would expect the automatic promotion teams to win those games.
It could go any way. I don’t fancy Hull’s chances, although I’d be delighted if they did stay up, as it would mean that we have survived too.
I’m not sure I’d swap places with any of the other clubs based on points/goal difference or upcoming opponents.
It’s certainly, going to be exciting!

Today's result has boosted Fulham who who now have even more reason to go and win at Wigan. Make you right as it's unlikely that anything will be decided at half-time on Wednesday so teams will be going all out in the second half for whatever they need. Barnsley winning makes the various permutations more complex but no point going into that. And yes, the EFL should explain very clearly what's going on with Wigan (which appears clear) and Wednesday which is anything but clear. As ever the outcome on Wednesday is going to be completely random given that there might be 100 shots across four games of which 10% end up in the back of the net. And what is it with all these goals going in at the 93rd minute?!

If I think something will happen the opposite happens. That is why I don’t bet much on the horses. I am the worst at forecasting results.

I've posted what I think is an accurate position regarding what may happen if we win/draw/lose against Leeds. It's at the top of the first post in my pinned stats thread.
I've also tried to factor in what happens if Sheffield Wednesday get a 12 point deduction (though I can't calculate things if their deduction is not 12)
If anyone thinks I've made any errors, let me know and I'll re-check.

Assuming Brentford beat Barnsley, we can lose at Leeds providing Fulham don't lose at Wigan. The big problem we have is if WBA are out of sight by HT in their game against QPR, Brentford and Fulham may down tools and make multiple substitutions to rest their key players for the play-offs. QPR have to stay in the game for as long as they can at The Hawthorns.

I think todays result at Derby dispels any idea that Leeds will not be wanting to win the game on Wednesday.

I think todays result at Derby dispels any idea that Leeds will not be wanting to win the game on Wednesday. They do however have lasting rivalry with Derby since the whole spygate thing I'm sure they'll be celebrating their nights away between now and our game With just 6 weeks until the new season, maybe Bielsa will play some youth

The big problem we have is if WBA are out of sight by HT in their game against QPR, Brentford and Fulham may down tools and make multiple substitutions to rest their key players for the play-offs. QPR have to stay in the game for as long as they can at The Hawthorns. I agree with this but look at the QPR, Millwall game and the Blackburn, Reading game. Out of sight would, probably, need to be five goals. Anything can happen and if Fulham or Brentford give it up and then there is a dodgy penalty and a red card QPR can come back into it. How would Parker feel if he took his best players off and then a turn around and WBA and Brentford draw and in the last minute Fulham concede a goal and lose in the playoffs. So, you are right, but I don’t think any of the teams will risk it. I’m banking on Fulham beating Wigan and Brentford, at least, drawing with Barnsley. And who knows we could get lucky at Leeds! I would think that only if
