Going to be a Blackburn supporter on Wednesday - they still seem interested in playing judging by the score line there today

Hull are down; Barnsley need to beat Forest tomorrow to retain any survival chance.
So now pretty much a three horse race between us, Luton and Wigan with us in pole position, albeit the hardest fixture on Wednesday.
As a result the bookies odds for us going down have gone out from evens to 12:5
Who would have taken that last August?!

If they win and both Luton and Wigan lose they will stay up on goal difference. I know that’s not very likely. But the results have been so mad since the restart I wouldn’t rule anything out.

I think safe to say Hull and Barnsley down. League One looking tough already

Luton winning 1-0! Disaster! I think this is only a partial disaster. A draw would have been worse as both Hull and Luton would have been able to get past us on the final day if results went their way. As it now stands Hull cannot catch us. So one less team to worry about is some crumb of good news .

We’re banking on Fulham beating Wigan and the EFL not being forced to back down on the 12 point deduction.

This is the position as I understand it. I hope this is correct... Win at Leeds
and we are safe Draw at Leeds
and Charlton could be relegated, but ONLY IF Wigan & Luton both win their games. Even if Wigan are deducted 12 points. (but if Sheffield Wednesday are also deducted 12 points Charlton will be safe)Lose at Leedsand Charlton could be relegated, but ONLY IF Wigan win and Luton win or draw. Even if Wigan are deducted 12 points. (but if Sheffield Wednesday are also deducted 12 points Charlton will be safe) NOTE:The above conditions are only correct if Barnsley do not beat Nottingham Forest tomorrow. If Barnsley do win, the whole thing gets more complicated! Also, Sheffield Wednesday's points deduction (if it happens) MUST be at least 12 points for Charlton to be safe. IF Sheffield Wednesday are deducted 11 points or fewer, again it all gets complicated. But I am assuming any deduction will happen after the last round of games.
Suffice to say it would be very good for us if Sheffield Wednesday lose their last game. They play Middlesbrough.

You're right of course. To be more precise, I should have stated that Hull (1/50) cannot catch us unless they win AND close a gap of 16 goals. And tomorrow we trust that Barnsley (3/100) join them in being unable to overtake us. That then makes it a three horse race from our perspective where the loser of CAFC (11/4) Wigan (4/7) and Luton (100/30) also goes down. Bookies odds in brackets. And yes, results have been mad which just goes to show how tight this League is across the whole division.

If Wigan and Luton both lose we will finish 5th from bottom (at least) so there would be a place below us for a club that stays up. I am, of course, assuming that the EFL don’t throw the book at Sheff. Wed.

Luton winning 1-0! Disaster! The Hull City keeper will be very disappointed with Lua Lua’s winner. He should have stopped it.

Conspiracy theory!
EFL are reluctant to award 12 point penalty for Wigan as they know that it’s a manipulation by the new owners for nefarious purposes.
The way to award the points and (hopefully) and avoid the Lattics being relegated is to deduct 12 points from the Wendies for manipulating the sale of Hillsborough from the current year into the previous year to get around FFP regs.
This may get the EFL out no their bind with Wigan and avoid CAFC LT and other clubs appealing to the court of arbitration to sport.

Got to feel a bit sorry for Barnsley. This is the story of their season. Going into injury time it looks as if they’ve had much the better of Forest, in terms of possession, shots and shots on target, but it doesn’t look like they’ll get the result they deserve. Their MoneyBall strategy, based on a focus on young players with potential, hasn’t quite worked for them.
This now means that if Wednesday get a twelve point deduction we’re safe.

The way these results keep going against us. Seems like we are destined to go down. 1-0 Barnsley

Barnsley have scored.
That makes the final day rather more complicated, for all concerned.

This weekend has been a disaster for us.
Think we will need to go and get a win at Leeds.
Barnsley looked good today.

Leeds were on fire today at Derby in spite of already being crowned champions. But maybe they'll get drinking the next few days now.
Of course it's a tough place to go and get a result, they are the best team in the division, but they have nothing to play for against us, and may relax. That is our only hope.
