Based on our previous visit to Craven Cottage the an element of our support will again be giving Scotty Parker dogs abuse tomorrow which I hope does not result in him getting spat at like he was the last time we went there.
Scott Parker means more to me than what any Charlton fan has ever done, in my opinion he is one of the greatest players ever to pull on the shirt, my most enjoyable era as a Charlton fan was when he played for us.
Ok he left us for Chelsea at a time when we were in with a shout of finishing in the top six in the Premier League but you can't hold that against him, he was a young lad with a chance of a move that was life changing for him.
Some fans will never forgive him but Parker did more for Charlton than they ever will.
We have had players since who have done a runner, driven by money who have not put half of the effort into our club than what Scott did, some have even had their names sung by Charlton fans when they have returned to The Valley with their new club!!

I really hope he gets a decent reception from at least the more intelligent of our fans. Best Charlton player I have seen at the Valley. I have seen games when he almost crawled off the pitch he had put so much into the game. Totally agree Reams. Good interview in the London Standard - apparently he and LB are great mates. Can't see LB being impressed with the boo boys.

At the time it hurt the fans .. but it also had a lot to do with the timing of the sale it was very late and we were unable to replace him I think Parker took the stick for that ... think looking back Parker himself may regret leaving at the time because it cost him a place I believe in the England squad that summer ...

Parker was no different to any other young player past, present and future to be lured away by the prospect of earning more at a “bigger” club so I’ve never understood why he in particular gets or has got so much abuse as he’s had. Hopefully this will now cease, particularly as its been demonstrated recently how friendly he is with Bowyer. As for his being one of our best player, absolutely. Mind you those of us with long memories will remember Alan Campbell and Mike Bailey to name but two who were, in their time, wonderful midfielders for the club.

Loved Parker and his performances for us. I’ll always remember the Boxing Day game at the Valley when he ran the show against Chelsea and which led to his move to them.
A great player for us, and any bad feelings by some fans will be because of the way he forced his move, and the affect it had in the team when many fans were dreaming of Europe. It’s all water under the bridge to me now, he’s moved on and we’ve moved on. I just want us to put in a performance today I can be proud of.

Congratulations Scotty!!
Just taken AFC Bournemouth back to the Premier League.
Developed into a very good young manager and I for one am thrilled for him. Pure man love for the guy.
One of my all time top 5 Charlton players.

One of my all time top 5 Charlton players. Looks a slimey cnut to me, fulham piss the league without him, would not have got up if cooper was at forest from the start... Straight back down, his style of play is shite, to many draws that tells me he's a ditherer

Don't really get the hatred aimed at Scott.
What a player he was for us and may be a better manager than he was player. Special stuff that.
Good luck to him.

He probably was. Then again, Avatar was one of the best films ever. I hated that as well.

Parker sacked after 12 matches. Great player for us but it's not happened for him as a manager.
