testimonial for their popular groundsman Colin Powell as part of their pre-season preparation.
Powell, 59, a former Addicks winger who is credited for creating many of leading scorer Derek Hales' goals, also played for Gillingham.
Manager Alan Pardew confirmed: "We are trying to organise a testimonial match for Paddy Powell and all being well we will be able to attract a top club for that."
The Addicks will also play their traditional pre-season friendly at neighbours Welling and plus Ebbsfleet United whose ground they use for reserve team games.
They round off their pre-season schedule of friendlies at home to French club Nancy. Pardew has not ruled out an overseas trip as part of that

I look out for Nancy Lorraine's results in La Championnat and it's great for a small club to be on the verge of the Champions league. Unless it's beneficial to the club to have an overseas trip I wouldn't bother unless it's a hop across the channel to France, Belgium or Holland. Any pampering with breaks to training complexes in the sun like La Manga, sod em, they'll have ample opportunity in the summer to go to Spain with their families. Get them back in before most clubs and knuckling down starting with the basics which have eluded us so often this season, I do not want to read anymore of Phil Parkinson's blogs from the sun on the OS telling us that they have worked on this and worked on that yet there is no evidence of it when the season starts

Well deserved for a great player.
Most of today's team are not fit to lace his boots.
