I wonder if Pardew will come at and ask the board to rethink their decision on rehousing away fans when Peter Varney leaves the club? I came out with the idea long before Pards did so obviously I agree with him I think a full Jimmy Seed stand this year has worked against us at times and weighing up my knowledge of the Valley I really cannot see any reason why away fans cannot be rehoused in the East Stand section closest to the away end, a few adjustments could quite easily give them seperate access to the stadium without any mingling with home fans.

Mixed feelings on that one. I don't like the idea of having the away fans in 'our stands'... However, I can see the benefits of doing so. If they can be segregated effectively, I'd say yes... If nothing else, to combat the 'wall of sound' we sometimes get from the away end

Just been doing some homework and I have come up with this:
Championship away ends
Away ends solely for visiting fans......... 8 teams Away ends next to home ends behind the goal .........11 teams Away ends situated on the side of the pitch .......5 teams

I think we should have the Jimmy Seed but do not think we are vocal enough to make it work in our favour
Sadly
Also this thing about fans missing when they get out the ground its one for all anyway
What happened to teh announcements will teh away fans wait in there seats for 5 or 10 mins
That would work
There again most of ours leave from 75 mins onwards

I think that Varney was just the mouth piece for the Board who have looked at this and concluded it is not possible without the Board sanctioning alot of cash to re-design the ground. I doubt it was a personal thing.
