For some coaching from Poyet on how to be a winger.
The Uraguayan clearly tells his wingers to attack the last man and hit the dead ball line before sending over a cross, which they did very well in the first half, where as Sam keeps cutting inside which is not productive at all.
I also like the way they get bodies forward when on the attack, their midfielders get right amongst it and involve themselves in alot of nice link up play with their strikers in and around the opposing box which includes alot of one or two touch stuff with the eventual ball nearly always proving to be a defence splitting one.
As for Glenn Murray, ok he spent alot of time on the deck tonight but what a clever player I would have him at The Valley all day long he might not get the amount of goals that the top scorers in the division get but is there one more hard working, he played up top on his own tonight and didn't stop running or being a nuisance.
I was interested in Brighton's set pieces aswell they have obviously been at it on the training pitch, which PP hit on at the interval so it males me wonder why when we have one you can guess what's coming.
Finally with all this in mind I was glad Parky was there tonight as a Sky analyst because without the distraction of having Brighton as our opponents he must have seen and beem impressed by their work ethic, I hope he takes things from their performance because Colchester reminded me of us tonight alot of long ball hoping that their midfielders eventually get up to support the strikers and as those who watched it witnessed, it was very innefective.
Well done Brighton enjoyed watching your honest hard working performance tonight and it was a good result for The Addicks.
