Vital we won today with the league turning into a 3 horse race.
Thought Shelvey played a really mature game today. Gone seems to be the headless chicken, replaced by sensible use of the ball, switching the point of attack numerous times.
Also Lloyd Sam looked dangerous pretty much throughout with Wycombe closing him down with 3 men much of the time. Surprised by the idiot in front who kept shouting abuse at him. The whole point of Sam is not to contiually track back, but to be available on the break. He seems to divide some fans but I would always have him in my team at this level.
Mooney not sharp yet, but put on numerous runs into space. Probably upto his best just as he goes back to Reading.
Bailley up for it all game and took his goal well.
Llera, roller coaster ride. Did most things OK, but has the tendancy to lose his footing at the wrong time. I like him but he still worries me.
We still look like we will concede in every game, so want the 1st choice back 4 back asap. Clearly Richardson will play on Tuesday, which is why he was given 20 odd mins today.
Reasonably professional performance today against a hard working side that seem to lift themselves against the better sides.
Any comments?

Cheers for that pithy summary.
'Drinking during the game' also does some succinct match reports but he missed the 1st half today.

Yep some good comments there. I thought that Parky and the coaching staff must have really been working hard on Jonjo as his positional sense is far better and he is not always looking for the superstar killer ball.
I thought mooney is in line to stay till end of season unless Reading have a striker crisis so hopefully Mooney benefits from the three up and coming home games.
Up until end of march it's all about points accumulation - I know we would all like sexy football winning 5-0 every week but in a 46 game season it ain't going to happen. We have coped well minus three of our regular back 4 so by the time we have completed our run of three at home (hopefully picking up 9 points) we will be a good shapefor a run of tougher away fixtures.
Let's hope that LUFC stay in the cup and financial pressures force the budgies to sell hoolahan and a few other key players. Still alot of games to go for us all so in context happy with yesterdays result and performance.

I'm well pleased with how it went. Leeds have hit the skids a little and are unsettled because of the Beckford situation... We could easily have screwed up against a desperate Wycombe (who held Leeds the week before) but got three points and are now 10 unbeaten... And ok, Norwich spanked Colchester, but that keeps Colchester down a bit - and having seen the highlights and heard Colchester fans - Norwich weren't exactly sparkling. The result was down to the conditions and the ineptitude of the home side more than anything. All we can do is keep getting results one way or the other, wait for Norwich's poor run (which must be due soon) and hope Leeds continue to struggle and Beckford leaves. I'm not asking much!

Unfortunately, Beckford ain't now leaving.
TBH, with Leeds' strength in depth, realistically it's more about playing for 2nd for us.
Time for a Championship side to come in for Holt & Hoolahan to derail Norwich.
We HAVE to keep Bailey. Don't think Jonjo will go yet (perhaps in summertime) & if we could get good money for Racon (500K) that we could spend on a left winger then great (Puncheon 200K?). Although I do feel Racon would be a better asset next year in the Championship (I hope).

I dont know what all the fuss is about Racon. 2 decent performances thats all. Management must think he is not up to much or he would be playing. Indeed sell him if 500k or even 250k comes our way.

FAO BexleyBoy.....Drop Samédo? is he suspended? We cannot leave him off the park if he is available. Whatever people think of him, we let in goals when he isn't on the pitch

I believe some people here are looking at this game with rose tinted glases. Other than the two goals the midfield where atrocious, nearly all the game they gave the Wycimbe players 20-30yard runs before attempting to tacle and normaly failing to, there was that Keystone cops moment in the first half when three chCharlton players one after the other attemted a sliding tackle on the I think it was the Wickham number 23, leaving 3 Charlton players spralled on the floor. Luckily he was then one one with Elliot but slid his shot wide of the riight hand post. If i was a Wickham fan I would feel this was a nugging.

Certainly not a mugging. Fairly even overall, and Wycombe worked hard, but no real goal scoring quality either from midfield or up front. 2nd half we were clearly the better side, but they were definitely better than their position indicates. According to a Wycombe friend who I met at the ground, the difference was the quality going forward, and I agree with that. Our weakness is defensively, and we don't look like keeping a clean sheet at the moment.
