Having got as far as Telford, really pissed off about the fact that Walsall's pitch passed a 9am pitch inspection only to fail a second one a few hours later when the weather had not deteriorated in the 3 hours that passed.
Based on the passing of the pitch at 9am I got as far as Wellington/Telford before hearing the news and turned back.
Never mind as I like the look of our next Four fixtures, Hartlepool (h) Wycombe (a) Leyton Orient (h) and Tranmere at home, a must 12 points.

That's gutting. I nearly decided to go at the last minute as well.
You're right after a weak Christmas those games should keep us right up there.

Got a text from my brother who has just got to Birmingham. Really unfair to call the game off so late. Why did they think at 9 o'clock that the game would be on?

We were told at 9:30 that another pitch inspection was due at 12:00, so we took a chance and caught the 10:18 from Marylebone and as we got off the train in Brum thats when the phones started to ring, we had a few beers in Brum and caught the 16:00 home and in Bexley village for a curry by 20:00. Now if the game was not 100% on at 9 and the temperature in the midlands was not due to go above Zero all day how could the game get the go ahead at 12 noon?
