THE consortium led by Dennis Wise has pulled out of its bid to buy Charlton.
The group, comprised of Middle Eastern businessmen but fronted by the former Chelsea captain and ex-Newcastle player-recruitment chief Tony Jiminez, were unhappy with a number of key details in the deal.
And a source close to the proposed buyout has confirmed to the South London Press that the takeover has collapsed, adding that former Birmingham City owners David Sullivan and David Gold are now in pole position to buy The Valley outfit.

Thank God for that. I wonder what the details were that they found not to there liking. Wonder if it went something like this: Clause 1.2 Is that as part of the takeover you MUST buy 2 quality strikers because we are'nt going to

I know the posts from reams and jonkool were lighthearted replies but to be serious you have to wonder what these 'key' details are because we have had the supposed other bids collapsing and now this. It makes you think there is something basically wrong with our club for it to keep happening. I'm sure messrs.Sullivan and Gold (if they are interested to begin with) will dig extra deep after hearing this.

Greed springs to mind and I really think that this is the case, it's all about the sudden £7m that turned up out of no mans land.
For example, and I'll say this out of basic figures in my head.
If we were for sale for £30m when Zabeel were interested then it should be £30m now. What I think is happening is the board want the £7m on top because they will claim that that is what it cost for us not to go into administration.
Personally I think that is taking liberties and if I was an interested buyer the first thing I would be asking is prove to me this £7m exists after all nobody has seen it and why was the amount found to be to the penny of what they deemed what was required, surely if they can suddenly find £7m they could have found a little bit more for new players.
I think the £7m never happened if you want the truth, it was a decoy to up the asking price when the club is sold.
Controversial statement I know but my severe doubts are born out of the man at the helm, I no longer believe he is in this for what was once described "In the best interests of the club".
I need several questions answering from Murray one being how is it that after telling us that he was prepared to lose all his money and had warned fellow directors that the same would happen to them, between them after losing it they can come up with £7m more?
What they want for the club is the price they could have got for it a few seasons ago and it's never going to happen and it never should, what Murray lost should stay that way.
