I haven't put the link from his post match press conference in here as it is available in the links above but I have taken this from it.
"I thought it was a tough game in very, very difficult conditions. How a pitch can be that bad at this stage of the season I honesty don't know, and there was also a difficult swirly wind.”
When quizzed further about the stodgy Priestfield pitch that made good passing football tricky, Parkinson added: "It was difficult conditions for both teams.
"Gillingham like to play football as well, don't get me wrong. It wasn't left like that to benefit themselves because Mark [Stimson] gets them playing.
Now maybe it's just me but during the winter months we have to go and play at Walsall which has always had a pitch resembling a sand pit and also Bristol Rovers and Stockport who share their grounds with Rugby teams, so should we sometimes adapt our game to suit conditions more?
