Burton and Jackson both had poor games , and both you could easy forget where on the pitch, but Burton gets one chance 6 yards out and misses Jackson gets one chance and GOAL.....
This sums up our major problem...why did he not take Burton off and leave McLeod on what is wrong with Parky don't he see the same game as the fans Burton was crap when was his last goal...
Tough game Gills played out their skins not many chances for either side, but when your given a goal with 10 mins to go you should close up shop and take the points
Message to the board if you do one thing for this club go and get Kevin Phillips on loan, with the pace of Sam and McLeod the openings would be there for him and he would take a chance that turns one point into 3

Agreed bexleyboy, I wasn't at the game but it's so glaringly obvious what the problem is I don't have to see it for myself, the issue is that well documented, the newspaper reporters, see it, match commentators see it, the fans see it but as you say the people that really matter don't see it and that is a major worry.
What kind of chairman is Murray if he can only give PP the nod to sign players that won't bring what's needed to the table? A few million quid could be added to the cost if the club if we go up yet our chairman seems content trying to achieve it on the cheap............Not a chance if that's the case.

Couldn't agree more Bexley, Burton was almost stationery today. People may have a go at Mcleod but he was always running off the ball and doing Burton's running as well. Should have brought Shelvey on to add a bit of craft.

Burton has got a hernia remember. He shouldn't even be on the pitch, but we're so short of strikers.
He's twice the player McLeod is when he's fit.
It's false economy for us not to sign another striker. £1m spent now on a decent goalscorer could easily get us promoted

I dodn't think Shelvey would have been the answer today to be honest mstone, we really do need a striker or two who are totally different to what we have which are a hold up player and a speed player.
Burton will not score often enough playing 90% of the time with his back to goal like he does and McLeod does regularly blaze high and wide but maybe it's because he's running onto the ball at speed and and he lacks that split second bit composure to position his body over the ball to get a better connection, in saying that there is no excuse for his one on one ratio with the goalkeeper, it's appalling.
I know we are in League one but the kind of striker we need is one like Mendonca, a player who knew what he was going to do with the ball before it even reached him, he had a fast mind and got in as tight to his marker as he could so that once he turned him he was gone and how good was he at created something out of nothing.
Andy Hunt was another one who like Clive I still love to death, he wasn't as gifted as Clive but what a nuisance he was for defenders who hated playing against him, good on the ground and fantastic in the air, not only that he was so difficult to dispossess, the closest I have seen to him since is Andy Carroll the Newcastle striker who scored again today.
So all in all we all know what we need, the trouble is getting him/them, those that actually could, sadly don't appear to be interested.
