PP interview: “There’s very little difference in the system we play and it hasn’t done too bad for us in twelve games with one defeat so if we can reproduce that over the next twelve games then that would be great".
In 12 games time, Parky, our season could be over if the last 6 match stats (as follows) of the top eight clubs are continued, we will drop like a stone,
Colchester (14 points), Bristol Rovers (13), Leeds United (12), MK Dons (12), Norwich (11), Swindon (8), Huddersfield (8), CHARLTON (7), .
"would be great" Parky, wanting this to continue, beggars belief!

What's wrong with what he said.? He wasn't talking about the last six games! Nobody on here thought we'd have the points we have now after 12 games.... Did they? So why wouldn't he want to get the same out of the next 12 games??

My point is current form dictates position in the league and our current form compared to our rivals is way off the mark, yes, we may go on a long winning run as our early matches, but not on current form.
Can only hope that we are experiencing a patch of lost form, as all clubs go through during a season, but until we change tactics and use goal scoring strikers, instead of playing Burton, a hold up forward, on his own, we are not going to get out of this rut.
As for Shelvey, his support of Burton on Saturday was non existant, he looked tired and well off the pace, as he did against Colchester, reverting to 4-4-2 with JonJo coming off the bench late in the game may prove to be the way forward.

The way I see it is everybody in the division will have a bit of a wobble this season and go on a dodgy run of games, if what we are currently going through is ours then I'll take it all day long because at least we are still picking up points. Valleyviper you are correct our last seven games have not brought us the points we might have expected however a win on Saturday will take us top and we can't ask for more than that, alright Leeds will have two games in hand on us but Id rather have the points in the bag and they have got 4 very tough games in 12 days on the way up, they won't win at least one of them and don't forget their last two games have only brought them two draws aswell. A win on Saturday however is easier said than done though, Huddersfield are no great shakes on the road but will still be a tough nut to crack but we can start by taking stock of what Oldham's Sean Gregan has had to say which was they man marked Shelvey and deemed this as the main ingredient to earning a point. Hopefully PP will realise that Oldham's manager will be on the dog and bone to Lee Clark this week advising on the same tactic so if I were him I would play Shelvey up in the press all week making sure it finds itself on the back pages of the Yorkshire press, then whilst Clark is rubbing his hands with glee having spent all week setting up their game plan to combat the youngster, drop the news on them an hour before kick off that he won't be playing giving them 60 minutes to rearrange their tactics

Regrettably the comfort of believing that perhaps our last six games is our "dodgy patch" and that we'll return to our early season form of the previous six games of winning, is in my view something of a fallacy. The current form IS our level and our dodgy patch is yet to come when injuries and suspensions kick-in. The false dawn created by those remarkable six wins on the spin has lifted expectations as a consequence. But we ain't that good. We could be...but we ain't!! The board don't look as if it will support any new additions, possibly until it's too late (as usual), and Parky doesn't appear (to me at least) to have the acumen to slug it out with Murray and force their hand. The six wins have been and gone! We enjoyed the flirtation but it's disappeared into the memory! We are now the "top 6" team that was expected at the beginning of the season so better get used to it...unless the purrr of Bentleys bearing Saudies hits Floyd Rd! Other than that...Good Morning all!!
