Why bring Solly off after regaining his confidence and composure after a torrid first half?
Why bring Tuna off after scoring, and in doing so deny the lad an opportunity to gain further first team experience?
Why leave Dailly on when at 36 if anybody deserves a rest, he does?
And the one that disappoints me and if the truth be known annoys me the most is why have you tonight denied Holden the opportunity to show the fans what he can do? How's the lad supposed to impress?

Not interested in the result really more concerned about the preservation of first team players for more important games and the schooling of the younger ones in the team tonight and Holden deserved better, I believe he is better than Wagstaff by a long way but im not PP.
Hardly moaning just questioning some of the swapping and changing that took place but more importantly the change that didn't.

All decent points, but imho we're having a good season, and because of that I'm willing to give Parky the benefit of the doubt regarding the decisions I might not fully understand. He must have his reasons. Had we lost the last 3 games and been on the ropes tonight, I'd be wholeheartedly questionning some of his decisions. But as long as we're winning - especially with such a makeshift team - I'm a happy man. Some might say that's hypocritical. I say it's the nature of the beast; managers under pressure expect questions from fans. I will add again though, that they ARE valid questions: I'm not arguing that. I'm just not worried now. Ask me again at the end of April...!

He's just been on BBC London saying he was pleased with the performance and the way the young players did in particular.
Didn't single out any reasons for changes other than the 'injury problems' we have at the moment. I think the only sort of answer you'll get off him in the press conference will be that he wanted to give them a run out, and the changes were for tactics and fitness.

valid questions - especially the one about Dailly having to play another 90mins. They should have taken him off for Mambo.
My reasoning was that he wanted to give Izale a full 90mins after all the hard work he has put in. Tuna did a couple of good things, but he's clearly not physically ready for the big games yet, and another 30mins wouldn't have changed that. I'm guessing that again he wanted to try Wagstaff for a full 90 and give Holden the experience of just being involved in a match-day at the Valley before thrusting him in.
Overall, not a remarkable performance. Izale was woeful, Solly and Wagstaff fairly average. Basey did alright considering i'm not really a fan and he was playing out of position. Mambo looked like a beast when he came on. The bloke behind me said, " a young Sol Campbell", which wasn't far off. I wouldn't be too worried if we had to throw him in later in the season

Hold on guys Im not criticising him im just saying im disappointed with the way Holden got overlooked tonight.
Put yourself in his situation, how many of you would have woken up this morning excited at the fact that tonight was possibly going to be the biggest night of his young career, you would have known that first team football in the league is a fair way off yet, you would have also known that there is no Carling Cup so tonight would have to be the night to impress and show the manager and fans what you can do.
You would have wanted to put in the kind of performance that would have you on the tip of the fans tongues and you would have done that by reproducing the same kind of stuff that tore apart a Serbian International full back in the Champions League in July.
It didn't happen, it wasn't allowed to, so for Holden it's back to playing friendly matches in front of one man and his dog when it could and should have been in a fantastic stadium albeit in front of a few thousand fans.
I really feel for him tonight, he must be wondering where he goes from here, is all this really worth being away from home, his family and not playing regular football.............I would say no and if he's thinking the same I have no doubt that sometime soon we will see him somewhere else saying "if only"..........how many times have we been there before?

Simple Richardson is injured so Solly was taken off for saturday,,Tuna to be honest apart from the goal very disappointing can't see what all the fuss is about...McLeod outstanding tonight scored one and made one, Wagstaff struggled the whole game, even Bailey had a bad game including the cock up of all cock ups for Barnet.s goal... trying to dribble past two barnet players in our own 6 yard box in front of our open goal nedless to say he failed,,,then turned round and blamed Dailly

I can subscribe to that totally Exeteraddick but the problem now is, we are in the quarter finals of ok a secondary competition but as we all know it brings an opportunity of going to Wembley and after tonight we are 3 games away from doing so, so PP will be taking the next round more seriously and will do so in the semi's if we get there, so where would that leave Holden because the more serious we begin to take it the less chance he will have as the big guns get drafted in to the squad.
I have to say this and im being serious, having watched Holden regularly on the box up here in Wales I am convinced that he is better than some of the players that we have on the bench every week, he might be playing against part time factory workers and post men but he can only play against what's put in front of him but like I said on another thread, a Serbian right back on his way to next year's World Cup was run ragged by him for 90 minutes in the Rhyl v Partizan Belgrade Champions League qualifier and in the end was glad to see the back of him.

it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Holden turns out to be better than Wagstaff. I guess Parky thought that Waggy was ahead of him in terms of deserving a chance to show what he can do, but yes, i would have liked to have seen him for 30mins in place of Bailey.
And Bexley, you must have been watching a different game to me mate! I thought McLeod was absolute pony!

The big worry for me is there are one or two little signs of PP developing Pardewitis!! Let's make no bones about it if PP thinks that Wagstaff and Tuna old enough, wise enough and good enough to play at first team level, then he is mistaken.
He is talking about them as if they are world beaters on his post match interview ( see post match Parky in the links on here), but where was Tuna on Saturday against Kisnorbo and where is Wagstaff every time he plays? They are kids for the future and im looking forward to seeing their emergence when they become men but at the moment they are swaying PP's thinking because he see's them as being capable of being able to deliver the goods now and how far is it going into convincing him that they are the cover he needs and not experienced loan players.
I genuinely think that what these lads are doing in training and against lower league opposition as we saw tonight are clouding his judgement slightly, Sam and Richardson are serious doubts for Saturday so who comes in..........Solly and Wagstaff I expect but they are too lightweight, they should be in the gym putting some muscle on and playing regularly in a reserve side that we don't have, not looking all set to play against Oldham.
It's harsh I know but im just being realistic, we need 3 players very quickly, a striker, right winger and a utility player who can play anywhere along the back four a younger Dailly so to speak.

Tuna in particular looks like a schoolboy, which, to be fair, he still is. Definitely needs to bulk up before he can cut it at a decent level, but there's certainly some potential there. His movement and vision at times was better than other strikers i've seen

Personally I find this Johnstones paint thing a bit embarrassing… Yes a possible trip to Wembley, but that’s never a good place to go unless it’s full, and depending on opposition the odds of that are slim…
I would have liked a glimpse of Holden, but we don’t always know the goings on like the manager, and Parky may have had reasons, that he doesn’t want to make public for not playing him…Whole host of reasons? Bit like I could never understand how Moo2 was never getting picked, because he looked to have a lot of promise from what I saw, but then stuff came out later about him which explained it…
Seemed a good opportunity to give the lad a try and give Bailey a rest, but he‘s our manager and we have to trust his closer judgement…

"Holden"- could be that we pay his club each time he plays as part of the looan deal and if he's no better than what we have then it would be a waste of money.

Can't see that myself as surely we haven't gone down the Christensen route again which still hits as a ridiculous decision especially when he is still out on loan and if Sam is injured this weekend it leaves Wagstaff as the only natural winger available.
