Not only putting three of our home games live, but today at Fulham the half time discussion was held by Scott Minto with guests Lyle Taylor and Chris Powell!
Not often we are flavour of the month with them!!

Does anyone know how much Sky money we receive for these featured matches , bearing in mind the reduced attendances it results in .

The TV money for each game must be a six figure sum surely. I'd imagine three home games covered by Sky would bring in not far off a million pounds.
Far more than is needed to cover the loss of ticket sales. Again it's only a guess but I imagine over half of those who don't come to the Valley because the match is live on Sky will be season ticket holders anyway.
And the media coverage of the Club for a televised match is vastly more than it would get on a match day that isn't on TV. So it's win-win for the Club. Not attending to watch the game on TV is purely the free choice of each fan. Nobody twists their arms.

Championship clubs are awarded £100,000 for every home game broadcast on Sky, while they are given a £10,000 bonus for away clashes on the box. www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/championship-tv-money-aston-villa-12969621

Not attending to watch the game on TV is purely the free choice of each fan. Nobody twists their arms. As somebody else posted its £100K per game but the important thing is that we now get the best part of £7M in media rights as opposed to £750K last season. Posted on another thread that the win-win might be discussed. For sure we get more coverage with neutrals seeing our club and pundits analysing how we play. This in turn normalises CAFC and squeezes the old criticisms even more. But we have taken a very interesting journey to arrive here, there's no guarantee of further improvement, and our players will be in the shop window, most notably Cullen. Much was written when Scott Parker went to Chelsea some 15 years ago, and many were concerned when it appeared the team which won at Wembley appeared to be "broken up". Unfortunately, the price of success and TV exposure is that the best players become very attractive to competitors. Then again, if the budget are set correctly, it should be easier to recruit in January now we have arrived at this current level.
