The Championship is a division too far for him. You said that about Bonne ?

Needs a run of games like Bonne, not sub appearances. That will only happen if he goes out on loan. Or we get any more injuries!

I like Aneke and I think he will come good. He needs a run of games.

I like Aneke and I think he will come good. He needs a run of games. Hopefully. He looked very cumbersome yesterday. Considering he came on quite late, he wasn’t charging around at the end for me. Looked like he’d been on for the whole game.

It looks to me like we need to find his best position still. Some games he has looked good and some games bad. It obviously doesn’t help with his injury, and lack of a run of games, but he needs to earn that run of games, and LB obviously doesn’t think that he has yet.
Maybe with our injury list now, he will get mor opportunities, and push on like Bonne has now.

Needs to work on his effort levels for Bows to consider him as a starting option.

Needs to run off some pies Haha, he’s not fat, he’s a unit, but as others have said above, he needs to start showing a lot more effort and desire when he gets a chance. Nobody can be sure from what we have seen so far, if he can step up to the level that we are at now. He has looked really good in flashes, but equally not very good in others. The size he is should give him some advantages, and I hope he can prove his value to the squad.

He needs to up his speed of thought... he got caught out by not passing a few times after he came on today...

He needs to up his speed of thought... he got caught out by not passing a few times after he came on today... Yes I agree with that, he doesn’t seem up to the speed at this level yet. and unfortunately until he shows a lot more, he won’t get a run of games to help him improve.. He should take some inspiration from Bonne on how to work hard and improve. He can look promising in flashes, but LB will surely want more from him.

I've been very impressed with Chuks Aneke in his infrequent cameos. Lee Bowyer made a very cryptic comment about him recently though. He seemed to imply that he'd be too good for League One if only the medical team could keep him fit. I inferred that there might be some underlying problem that is hard to solve and that we're unlikely to see him play 90 minutes on a regular basis. Hope I'm wrong about that.

Yes got that impression too ! I really rate him lot of skill and a big presence. I think the best is yet to come, fitness willing !

When I saw him play in the games at Swindon and Crewe he appeared to have list some weight and appeared more mobile. The jury is out as to whether he has been plain unlucky or a perennial sick note ... fingers and toes crossed!

He was a bit of a forgotten man last season. Several on here have raised their concerns over where the goals are going to come from this year. Chuks is the only one of our front men with a high goals To games ratio at a previous club, albeit at a lower level. I guess he’s our best hope of being the 15-20 goal striker to spearhead our promotion drive.

It’s good having one striker who can get 20/25 goals but not much good when no one else gets over 10 .. especially if that striker gets injured or leaves ..
I would always rather have 3/4 players getting 10/15 goals then one getting 25 ...

You're not wrong, but if you are going to play two up front then to have all four of them get 10-15 goals they have to do it in 23 games. To score 10 in 23 is, pretty, impresive and to get 15 in 23 is outstanding - the equalivent of 30 goals a season, pro rata. It is very rare for two players in the same team to score 30 goals in a season. It's also rare for two players to score 20 a season. So, I, like you, wouuld love to have our four forwards chip in woth 40-60 goals this season but I don't think it's likely. Do you?

Looked like he’d been on for the whole game. Hes a big ol unit, is Chuks. I'm not sorry he was not running around like a headless chicken. My all time favourite Derek Hales, certainly didn't, but so long as ball goes between the two white sticks, then all is 👍 Keep up the good work Chuks...

Yes I remember Halesy often getting stick from fans calling him lazy, he regularly shut them up with a goal though haha.

He actually appears to be a lot more mobile lately. Hopefully it was just a fitness thing before.
