Yes but apparently his not greedy. At the end of the day LB is the right fit for this club , with no pressure but to keep us in the championship next season. If he took the West Brom job I can only imagine the narrative to be promotion to the premiership next season which imo is a big ask for a fledgling manager , Eddie Howe to Burnley springs to mind. Just hope for everyone’s sake RD sees sense and offers him what his worth as I cannot see the Aussies taking over anytime soon because with preseason less than a month away time is what we have not got. Of course the 'narrative' (as in the target, the expectation) will be promotion for West Brom next season. So it should be. That would only be seen as a negative or frightening thing by somebody who is risk averse, has no ambition or just wants to play it safe. Lee Bowyer does not strike me as that kind of person. I'm not sure Bowyer would be content at a Club where he is under no pressure except to keep it in the Championship. Not much of a challenge there for a talented, aggressive young manager. If the limit of ambition this Club is simply to stay in the Championship - which sadly I can believe under this owner - then I'm not sure Lee Bowyer is such a perfect fit. I believe he wants to achieve more than that. Of course he would want to achieve more but surely it’s consolidating in the Championship for the first season. Bowyer still has a lot to learn as a manager. If he kept us in the championship under the current owner his stock will only rise.

Sky are reporting that Bilic is set to be appointed Baggies new boss. Woodgate as Middlesbrough manager. As long as Lampard doesn't leave Derby we should be able to keep Bow!

What an amateurish way to run a football club, however this is ultimately concluded.

Well I sincerely hope something is sorted out today . If LB still hasn’t signed his contract, and takeover still not confirmed., we are not in a very good position for the new season preparations.

In what universe do you not give Bowye r a new contract in the current circumstances, with a bonus for staying up. I can't believe (though I am not in the know) that Bowyer is or would make unreasonable demands.

My guess is the takeover negotiations, or its just RD being RD

If a takeover or not is stopping Bowyer getting a contract it is all bollocks. Right now he is so clearly the right man for the job whoever owns us.

Yes, but if he has been working for as low a wage as has been reported before, 3x that still wouldn’t be a massive amount when you consider what the players will be offered .

Exactly that... £5k a week to £15k a week is hardly a massive ask and RD only on hook until he sells club...

Its not just the wage demands Im sure LB & SG have a proposed budget to agree too else they are working with hands tied.

Bowyer salary last year was 6 figures, I understand from a Millwall fan he got more then Harris was paid in the championship so he was not low paid as people want to believe .... and who told you what bowyer earns ? Shouldn’t think it’s common knowledge Two weeks after promotion and we are now speculating around wage demands of the manager who delivered our best season since 2014/15. For sure there will be a gap between RD and Bowyer which can easily be covered by ST sales. Theres also a small matter of a takeover and most importantly: Bowyer's ability at Championship management (unproven) and the budget he and Gallen have to play with. We are back mixing with the big boys and the salaries to put the team back together will rise accordingly. Bauer, Aribo, Cullen, Williams and Bielik might all cost £500k per season or more. Aside from Bauer we would have been paying a lot, lot less. The best option for CAFC is either a quick takeover by this Cardiff dude or sign Bowyer up today and work with the status quo. If there were a poll, we might wonder which option fans would choose? Some elsewhere are commenting on Warnock as director of football overseeing Bowyer, Gallen, JJ and Avory. Never met any of them but our four have been running the show ever since Meire left, with a weekly visit by Murray to discuss things. In other words, something of a culture shift if a new owner arrives with Warnock and a single minded agenda to get to the Premier league.

And they'll tell you? Utter bollox. You told us earlier in the week that their first choice for the managers job is Powell yet Jimmy Seed on CL who is clearly in touch with them has stated today that they are keen to keep Bowyer!!!
Clearly you all have different versions of Football Manager and yours my friend seems out of date!!!
