Firstly I did have a bit of a chuckle reading the match thread when I got home last night especially some comments made after the game.
Fact is guys, yesterday we never even got close to a very good Barnsley side, one streets ahead of what we are even when we have everyone fit.
Don't want to keep banging on about it but Bowyer had us set up all wrong for this one and seeing how poorly prepared we looked there was only ever going to be one team who were going to win the game.
Stop the supply to the flanks and double up on their wingers I said because all last week because that is where Barnsley are very dangerous and within 15 minutes it was in that area where we were exposed and both goals came by way of their wide men. Ok the second goal was a bit of a worldy but how much time did he have on the ball? Marshall should have been back there covering with Afernee.
The first goal came by way of another easy cross coming in a a poor clearance fell to an unmarked Potts on the edge of the box who scored with another tidy finish.
Grant clearly wasn't fit, it's not often you see a centre back out pacing a striker, it went on all afternoon, perhaps he knew that himself and it was the reason he went down in the first half. Bowyer's and some fans comments about it should have been a red card are just plain ridiculous, it was nowhere near.
We are not going up automatically and can only hope of clinging onto a play off spot but many improvements have to be made for us to do so including LB's thought process and decision making, I mean RHF instead of Ajose in the second half? Come off it!! Ajose is poor, lazy and all that but what has Hackett-Fairchild ever done?
Well beaten yesterday I'm afraid and Barnsley are just another side who have players who can do things ours can't.
