Ok I think this needs to end here guys.... Many of us on here have different views, it’s our prerogative to have those and should feel free to discuss them even if we end up agreeing to disagree. Lardiman (who I’ve never met) is a long time supporter of the club we also all support. I am amongst those who are disappointed he has decided not to go anymore but to me we should do our utmost as fellow fans to get his mojo back for watching games. I believe if he had a new group of people he can watch the game with who he can have a pint, bit of banter and watch the lads, he might find a new sense of excitement about the team and it’s chances to gain promotion. I’ve always found the atmosphere at away games really fun (except Coventry away last season) and there’s lots of singing and banter with the opposition which might be worth trying. At this time of year especially I think it’s important not to ridicule each other as we don’t know what’s happening in their personal life, but become this family club we once were and try help those who maybe just need some encouragement or support... Would be good if Paul could perhaps arrange an ITTV game where lardi could come and meet some of us and build new friendships within our fan base. Keep the faith @lardiman 👍🔴⚪️ Once Paul buys you a few drinks Lardiman you be cheering from the roof tops lol

Cannot speak for all the 'stayaways' but personally I'll stay away until I feel like coming back - which is highly unlikely to happen while Duchatelet is CAFC owner. If you and others are enjoying things at the moment then good luck to you. Strangely enough I find myself with RD on this matter; we are both not interested and neither of us will be there on Saturday, or any time in the foreseeable future. Gotta feel for you @lardiman as the obvious conflict / lack of congruence after five years owned by RD come at a time that we're enjoying our best season since 2014/15. Despite injuries, we are definitely a play-off contender with our two main strikers scoring virtually every game. 21 goals in 22 games between them. Any normal season and 47 points from 23 would secure second place after Christmas. We might be just four points off that total next week? You do the stats thread update yourself so you know how we are now climbing ahead of the path we trod last season. And you know we will soon have key players back from injury. You aren't alone and our home gates are down by 500 as fans stop going for many reasons. But why not keep an eye on things, forget about RD and take another look in the New Year. Should we climb another place or two then perhaps 500 will return to the Valley... and then another 500 etc. Here's the thing - we don't know when a takeover might happen nor whether a new owner has the skill and hard cash to take us up a level. But if 500 per season keep disappearing then we simply won't have a competitive club to support. We are at a crossroads and one would hope that individuals and fan groupings alike might recognise that. And start promoting the club, asking fans to back Bow and the lads. A win next week will put us on target for 86 points as well as being our 7th win in eight. Really not hard to back a team like that and actually a great feeling.

I am also a stayaway but not by choice. Been living in Germany for the past 6 years but this is the first season since relegation where I'm trying to come back for more more games... Time and money dependant! Averaging about 1 game a month but feeling a positivety from the manager and the players more now than since the the relegation season. To the guy who stopped going when Powell was sacked.. Why? We were awful! Even the season before we were bottom half all season and just went on a mini run towards the end. We were never play off contenders! Lastly, 20-30 years ago before the Internet did any fan have any idea about who the owner was and his daily involvement? For me it's been a fun season so far, could be doing better? Yes but maybe we we will? Let's see!?

There he goes again! You said it and you admitted you said it : you aren't a Charlton fan any more and admitted that you haven't cared about our results since Chris Powell left...I'm sure someone can find the quote if anyone could be arsed...so why are you telling the big porkies, Mr Lardi? You've confirfmed it a couple more times this week in further posts telling us you arent interested in Charlton any more, despite the fact that we had our best result of the seaosn on Tuesday night and played wih passion, commitment and a never-say-die spirit. Between you and Bexley Boy, the entire span of human psychology is represented here, isn't it? Look, here's an idea for you. This forum is called Into The Valley. Why don't you start your own boutique thread called Out Of The Valley, for the exlcusive use of people who want to tell each other that they aren't interested in Charlton any more? Meanwhile, there's a game on this afternoon. Hopefully you will take some weill-intentioned advice and won't pitch up in the match thread to tell us you have no interest in the score! I am sorry I called you a liar. That was out of order. Christmas is nearly here - the season of goodwill to all. I'll try to keep that in mind when I post in future, and not let the worst side of my nature prevail.
