They also mentioned the other group and said it was a good thing that this group had pushed forward because that will fasten up completion .. either way ? dear lord ,,,,

Tony Cas just said he spoke to people at Charlton and they have told him the takeover is imminent, Jim White said that what we been saying this week, message to all fans it is close... thats 'nice' ,,, no different from last January then ,, This is not a cut and paste job is it? I seem to have read this before several times over the last year. No doubt it will be repeated in a few weeks or months time. Some people never learn but I suppose they have to be right some day and then claim they were "in the know" all along. It was just their timing was out by a year or so.

Groundhog Day ....
Question to those in the know ....
Is the scary prospect of RD keeping The Valley and training ground and doing a lease back?

that has been ruled out if you believe LDT

It appears to have been a part of an initial Aussie bid so RD was apparently prepared to keep the Valley at one point.

It appears to have been a part of an initial Aussie bid so RD was apparently prepared to keep the Valley at one point. Not the GM bid though. Sure. But with the original deal, the ex directors remain undisturbed with no change of title on CAFC holdings. Now it appears that they might be paid out and replaced with American financing which in turn funds the bid. In other words the Aussies use the full value of CAFC holdings to max leverage in order to raise finance to buy RD out. But they don't have the real money to fund a push for the FAPL... And them banging on about Australian players and potential Australian fans living in London suggests that they don't have a Scooby when it comes to strategy and execution! In short, no thanks. Would much prefer RD continues to fund or promotion push and we see where we are in June.

Can I revert back to the Fans Forum yesterday when it was said that it would be a deal for the Valley and Charlton Holdings is everything
Why don’t people realise that the Aussies and Americans do have the money or they would not get this far?
Buy the way who is authorising these loan deals?
This is only my personal opinion naturally

The EFL have been waiting for this 'paper work' to be submitted for MONTHS now, either someone is incompetent or has cold feet ! Their fax machine has probably jammed again.

It's annoying enough having the same sort of message from the Club about the takeover and then some people want to repeat conversations that happened previously as well. It's a never ending loop of confusion and ridiculous views repeated about whats really going on, when very few people are "ITK".
Even the people who are "ITK" (contrary to some peoples views I do think they exist!) don't really know the latest as it's such a fluid situation.
Buying a house can take months, buying a football club is exponentially more complicated. Some of those involved in the Aussie/American bid may have been around for some time but it's pretty clear it's not the same bid from back then so "they've had years" doesn't really strike true either.

White has apparently admitted that he over-egged it because "he wants to give Charlton fans hope".

Don't give up on the British Group, they are dark horses in all this and remember I told you last season what I knew and they haven't gone away.

White has apparently admitted that he over-egged it because "he wants to give Charlton fans hope". Not the first! Everitt, James Seed and the rest all deluded in believing they can influence the timing and outcome. Meanwhile we sign a left back and a little birdie who posts on here tells me we are looking for one more player.

I heard there was a Chinese interest. Reconfirmed when there was a very big take away delivered to Floyd Rd by men in a stretch Limo wearing mink coats.

Clearly as we have multiple groups interested but nobody able to get a deal over the line the common denominator for the problem must be Roland.

Just out of interest , how much do we think it would cost to 'build' the Valley and SL ?

Clearly as we have multiple groups interested but nobody able to get a deal over the line the common denominator for the problem must be Roland. It's probably more than likely than RD is the common denominator here. But it could be that there are other factors involved which could affect all of the bids. By that I mean the much discussed Directors loans, or the fact that Jimenez and Cash could not prove that they owned Charlton in a court of law. www.theguardian.com/football/2018/feb/09/charlton-khakshouri-jimenez-cash-modern-football

Agree with that for all reasons mentioned before - We cannot change the timing nor the outcome. The thread on CL had close to five million views! Imagine if all of that thinking and emotional investment were put towards something more constructive, like just backing the lads on a Saturday?!

Imagine if all of that thinking and emotional investment were put towards something more constructive, like just backing the lads on a Saturday?! You've just summed it up perfectly Kev, for it's heart breaking to see that energy wasted when it could be used to give an extra lift to LB and the players. Roland may not be a Charlton fan, but it is becoming blindingly obvious that he is a Bowyer fan. I can hear him now "You back me and I'll get you promotion" then you can decide what we do from there. Bowyer is our future, he is "Our Charlton" we need to keep him there for the foreseeable, for I cannot imagine the meltdown on this and other forums if and when the cowboys ride in and appoint a new sheriff.
