If this club can stay up, CAFC is worth £50M, in my opinion. It’s in London, it’s losing less money than almost any club in the division, has new pitches at the Academy and a solid stadium. If I was a billionaire and I liked football, liked going to London, Charlton would be an interesting choice. With proper investment over 2-3 seasons, a potential £200M valuation in the PL is not out of reach. It’s a smarter deal than buying a £200M Premier League club outside of London where relegation and a £50M valuation is always hanging over one’s head. Whilst we Addicks are a touch biased I am 100% with you in this. We are an attractive proposition now we are closer to the top flight and have a lot going for us.

Not sure if it's wise to share this: my source is a former STVV board member who worked close with RD. Spoke to him/her last night after Belgium - San Marino. As you know RD sold Alcorcon last June to an American consortium which is also a Crystal Palace stakeholder (~ 20% I believe). I was told that at one point they looked into the idea of a Charlton/Palace merger, to form 1 big South London club. While they expected a shit storm a study has apparently shown that if this were to happen, this new club could potentially challenge the PL top 5. Now I have no clue if this idea has been buried, nor if this is still ongoing. Never never ever ever ever in a million million trillion centuries!!!!!!

A merger between Crystal Palace and Charlton Athletic is an intriguing notion.
Seems extremely unlikely, but with a combined catchment area of millions - easily capable of pulling in 50K, 60K or 70K+ supporters I can see the potential of creating a Club capable of competing with Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea. A fourth London Giant. A real competitor for long term dominance of the Premier League, which is something neither Crystal Palace or Charlton Athletic can ever be by themselves.
I wonder what the technical implications would be as far as the league is concerned, with one Club being in the Premier League and the other in the Championship. I suppose if the 'merger' was actually executed as a take-over of Charlton by Palace, then the new combined Club could keep its top flight status.
A large number of Palace and Charlton fans would naturally be pretty unhappy at the prospect, but in the end I'm not sure what they could actually do about it aside from protest and boycott. Protests as we know can be ignored, and if the marketing is done properly and the new team wins games, fans will eventually come back - or new ones will be attracted.
Can't say I'm wild about the idea myself, but to me it would be no more controversial than Red Bull buying the Club - something which would (in my view) end CAFC as we have known it every bit as much as a merger with Crystal Palace, but would apparently be welcomed by many fans because of the footballing success it would bring.
It's the kind of idea that might well appeal to an ambitious US consortium. Raises the question how far would fans be prepared to go in pursuit of success.

Sharing their ground caused enough trouble.
Any rich buyer with this kind of idea is a non starter - it'll be a mess.
You need to recruit football people and let them get on with it. Any buyer the comes in and doesn't respect what we have already in place to build with would be bonkers.
