What do you reckon Andy, the boys in yellow and black, the boys in blue, maybe those in blue and white, might even be maroon? I back both , a bullseye each way ??

The new owner won’t give a toss about so called politicals ! If this comes off great times are ahead , hurdles to over come BUT a stable club and an owner to spur us on to the next level.

Any more clues you can give as to who it is and are we talking group 5. Cheers. Just that there has been an offer and that comes straight from the horses mouth, if it comes off the club will be the most stable it's been in years. Let's hope that RD makes hay of this offer and we can finally move on.

Apart from a handful of Charlton Life/Supporters Trust obssesives and fanzine writers, does anybody care any more? Never heard ownership mentioned once by anybody yesterday. The club is for sale. At some point, someone will buy it. On day one of the new "regime", the CL/Trust politicos will issue a manifesto telling the latest owner how to run the club. It's all a bit like Brexit. In both cases it seemed terribly important at the time, but the longer it has dragged on, the more the vast majority has just got bored with the whole argument and adopted a que sera sera attitude. I might not be able to affect how much longer Duchatelet stays and who our next owners might be, but I still care about the issue. Just as, how ever frustrating and annoying the politics has been, I very much care about what happens with Brexit. I think this vast majority who, you propose, are bored with this momentous decision and adopt a Doris Day attitude to it are, if that is true, irresponsible.

I would think that many fans are bored , but even more are frustrated, battered and bruised . The last year has been a constant stream of inaccurate rumours , false hopes , and lack of proper communication.
Charlton fans have been clinging on to the hope that it will all end soon , and the process will be successfully completed , so that the damage done to the club , can start to heal , and a new chapter can begin on an enjoyable upward journey. Unfortunately , the takeover saga , has been far from enjoyable, and the feeling of many fans will be more of relief than euphoria .

Everything the club says get derided though so it's a fairly pointless exercise.

The communications have been improving for some time now. And with Lee Bowyer as manager we have established ourselves in sixth place. We now have a striking partnership which scores a goal a game between them and we are no longer subjected to mindless discussions about the back office. The most therapeutic thing that "frustrated, battered and bruised fans" might do is go down to the Valley and cheer the lads on. For we might go into the FA Cup third round draw, and we might soon go fourth in the league if we can win our game in hand. As posted elsewhere, we are just one win off of where we need to be and we've come through some challenging injury issues. Bow is very close to a 50% win rate and whilst that doesn't guarantee promotion, it takes us much closer than the last two seasons.

I agree the communication has been better recently , my comment was regarding the months of lack of any information previously , which led to much frustration and false speculation .

We have 31 points and 4th and 5th teams have 35 points.

I think this vast majority who, you propose, are bored with this momentous decision and adopt a Doris Day attitude to it are, if that is true, irresponsible.May be, but I was actually referencing Jeremy Hunt, the foreign secretary, interviewed by Andrew Marr yesterday, when he refered to the "millions of BoBs (Bored of Brexit)" among the electorate who are sick and tired of the whole damned thing.
BoBs have now officially entered the political lexicon and were refered to again by No 10 today.
But my real point was that the vast majority of Charlton supporters are now BoTs (Bored of Takeover).
I dare say it's in Jeremy Hunt's interests to have an electorate of BoBs, so the government can go on making an almighty mess of things with impunity!

We have 31 points and 4th and 5th teams have 35 points. Taken literally, you're right of course. What I should have written is that winning our game in hand takes us very close to fourth and then we might aspire to overtake Luton and Peterborough in the coming months. Until we see consistency, there's not much point in hoping for 87-90 points and a top three finish. That looks like an improvement upon last season. And one might then envisage a play-off semi-final vs Luton or Peterborough?

Everything the club says gets derided because it's all lies. Regular meetings and notes published, statements on the website, interviews on the radio. Nothing but a propaganda campaign to re-write the past and deflect blame for failure. The Club isn't for sale. If it was it would have been sold long before now. It's just another lie.

The whole problem is that it’s like watching the test card - nothing of consequence is ever announced and nothing appears to change.
As Red has maintained on so many previous posts we can only concentrate what is changing and that is the team and it’s performances 👍

The club isn't for sale... really??? So the EFL is in on the "lie" ,too?
Apolgies for taking issue with that statement if, as I'm beginning to suspect, this isn't meant to be taken seriously and is in fact a clumsy attempt at humour.
I'll quietly go back to being a BoT (Bored of Takeover) !

I tend to agree with virtually all of this with the exception of the Club not being for sale. it clearly is. However, the exact timing of the sale is down to one person and one person only and unless he believes the deal is right, he will continue to support the Club financially until he believes everything falls into place to suit both him and the Club's future. Despite not going to The Valley this season, I have been directly told by two separate sources that RD intends to provide funds for LB in the January window with an all out push for the Championship to enable him to maximise his return on a sale of the Club. This is as a result of a meeting with Bidder 5 (no idea who they are) who have agreed to support this plan of action. I would assume this makes them favourites. Once again however, this could all be bullshit as we've heard talk of this kind if investment time and time again without it being delivered and just a ploy to 'hurry up' the other interested parties. I hate to use a seriouslyred catch phrase, but I'm prepared to wait to see where we are on 31st January.

I have also heard from a number of people that if we are in contention for promotion, Bowyer will be given funds to bring in new players.
