In the wake of the Salisbury poisoning’s and the Government threatening to crack down on Russian money in the UK the last thing the club needs is investment from pals of Putin.

No idea, Richard told me last season that there were two groups, Aussies and British. While the British Group are relatively inexperienced in football club ownership, they would have the capital to get us out of this division as a starting point.

Why has Murray not said a single word to update Charlton fans since the end of Feb ? Genuine question. Any idea ? Personally I think Murray’s conduct is disgusting.

It is possible he is acting however, as ever, you need to look for benefit. What is his benefit.

That's great, but why are they still yet to make a move? Or at least, why the hell is a take over of any kind taking so damn long?

A consortium of 8-10 backers, all putting £3-£4m in. Our Board meetings would have resembled an episode of Take Me Out.

Bexleyboy, somebody has actually messaged me admitting they have been winding you up for weeks.
Not sure though if it's the same person who was pulling your chain about Riga & Peeters and various players being at the Marriott Hotel in Bexleyheath.

If he wanted to take on all the risk himself he wouldn't need a consortium, but he clearly isn't, or he would have coughed up by now and this whole sorry saga would have been done and dusted months ago.

The Marriott hotel story wouldn’t surprise me as most of the away teams use this hotel. I work near there and noticed the Doncaster team when we played them.

The bloke in the Marriott was a extended family member who was a manager in there , he no longer there , but got to know Riga and players very well, he spoke in their native language so they felt welcome in the hotel .... Riga told him about his wife not liking London and refusing to move here .... but he did mention my youth team to him once and to our surprise Riga turned up at goals in Bexleyheath to watch us train on a Thursday evening lovely bloke ...

Another family member of yours with links to Charlton. You must have a bigger clan than the Waltons.

We've been down a few wrong turns in the last 12 months for anyone to get too excited by a bit of newspaper tattle - surely ?

wasn't this story quashed within a few hours of it coming out. There was a press release from Usmanov’s representatives denying the reports, but there seems to be some skepticism in some quarters about if it’s genuinely not in his intentions to invest in CAFC in some way. I appear to have become numb to such speculation given the ongoing saga of takeover from Aussie consortiums/Red Bull?/Kuwaiti investors thanks to Peter Varney etc...

More individuals than people with legitimate insider knowledge - basically it’s still a wish rather than anything solid
